Sony vpl cs5 projector will not turn on now power what so ever... Fuse on main power board is fine and power is getting to the main board at the back of the projector (the board which runs the bulb) the two pressure switches are fine and work and there are no obvious blown caps or resistors... everything was going fine until i tried to turn it on and then nothing happened... have checked everything i can think of but would love some advise?

there is no standby mode at all.... no lights no power nothing... after about 4 hours the power for standby comes on and the projector is once again fully functional... i believe it is a capacitor on the main power board is taking a very very long time to charge.... because if u unplug it and plug it back in before the power light on standby goes off it continues to work but if standby lights go off and u plug it in you have to wait another 4 hours for it to come back on again

Have you tried the following:

Connect the power cord and turn the projector to standby mode.

Press the following keys on the remote commander in the following order for

less than five seconds each: RESET, <,>, ENTER.

Sony VPL-CS5 menu will not display

Give input signal to the projector and see that if the menu appears or not on the screen.
if menu comes on the screen then put the backgroung color to blue, instaed of black.

if nothing comes on the screen, then the LCD panels are faulty.

Sony CS5 Wont turn on

the cover switch is probably not fully made.
Ensure that the cover tangs are pushing the pin
on the miniswitches.
Try putting slight pressure on the fan or lamp cover to see if the lamp/cover light
stops flashing.
you will need to do a restart on the PJ to check this out
