I have an Nespresso Aeroccino that will not make froth

I have a brand new aeroccino. It heats, the frother spins, but I only get a couple of mm of froth and warm milk. I've tried fresh, cold, and room temperature semi-skimmed milk. I've also tried various amounts of milk.

I have a brand new aeroccino. It heats, the frother spins, but no froth (only a mm or so). I've tried cold, cool and room temperature milk, and different volumes, semi-skimmed and full-fat - it makes no difference.

Try a different brand/source for your milk. Trader Joe's (small west coast chain) brand will not froth where Albertson's and Ralph's (large chain) milk works fine. This suggestion came from the Nespresso help-line and was an immediate fix.

Sorry, but it looks as though you have the classic Aeroccino-problem. Nespresso states that leaving the Aeroccino on its base while it is plugged-in to the wall, will cause it to short-circuit (because there is no off-switch on the base, it is continually feeding full power to the frother), and the result is that it makes only warm milk. Replacement is the only solution...I hope you are still under warranty.

Sorry, I neglected to add what others have now responded. 1) Before despairing, do try a fresh, full fat milk---this works best. When I tried older milk, it didn't froth, but there was nothing wrong with the frother. 2) Turning it upside down has to do with water getting into the electrical parts in the base, from washing, etc. Turning it over for 24 hrs doesn't "reset it" but just gives the water a chance to evaporate, if the electrical components have not been affected. 3) A replacement may be necessary if those solutions don't work for you.

SOURCE: Nepresso aeroccino doesn't spin fast enough to froth the milk

The company will tell you to turn upside down for 24 hours to reset. I did this but it did not work. Try turning upside for aeroccino upside down for 24 hr. You do not need to do this to the base. They told me if this does not work, I need to buy a new one. I hope you have better luck. I am on my third one. you may be covered under warranty- call Nepresso soon..they cover them for about 1 year. Good luck

Aeroccino frother won't turn back on after we get some froth and still more milk in container.. takes a long time to be able to activate again.. using Almond milk could be the problem any suggeest

My Nespresso Aeroccino often would not heat or froth multiple times after one use. I called Nespresso, they have excellent customer service, and was told to rise the inside (careful not to get the outside button or electric elements wet) of the Aeroccino with cold water a few times and to retry. Works like a charm!
The customer service is the best I have encountered in a long while, give them a call, it will make your day they are so pleasant and helpful!

My nespresso machine won't froth the milk

Brand of milk definitely matters... Here in Canada I used Sealtest 1% when I first used it and the froth was thick light and luxurious. Then one week picked up Neilsen 1% and found it produced absolutely ZERO froth. Back to Sealtest...back to froth. Milk brand matters....but don't know why.

My Aeroccino doesn't froth the milk-what can I do to fix it?

We had the same problem and it could be that you need new whisks. If you phone Nespresso they will send you out new ones (one of each).

Aeroccino deosn't make froth

Our aeroccino worked fine for 2 years and suddenly it didn't made foam anymore. We tried the "inverting trick" without much success. We contacted Nespresso and they suggested switching from regular fresh milk (we used 2%) to UHT milk (harder to find in US) and to use it cold and freshly opened. So we tried that and it works.
Hope this solution works for you too
