At harbor freight, purchase a 3 dollar volt meter.
Use it on "ohm" setting to confirm that the fuse is open (or good).
If good, then the issue is beyond the fuse. Could be that you have a short (high resistance) that sucks down power..but not enough to open the fuse. That is beyond this sight to repair (IMHO).
there is a serious fault within the main power protection board it needs to be serviced/ fixed by a license tech you can find them under audio repairs in the local phone book
a blinking or pulsing power light usualy means a problem with the power supply. Check for burned resistors or swallen capacitors on the power board it will be the one with the one with the main power running to it.
There is a huge discussion among audio enthusiast regarding subwoofer output and how you should connect your sub to your system. If sub preout is turned and on your amp/receiver and you are able to adjust the crossover frequency adjust your crossover frequency to highest setting, higher HZ number, so you don't double low pass filter your signal too much. If you can adjust crossover frequency on your receiver and your sub allows separate connection to by pass it's filter, use that instead. There is a great article on Polk Audio website regarding Home Theater setup. You can use it as reference and tweak it to your taste.
If it has powered up and detected the hard disc but is froze on the "Home" menu screen, you have internal problems beyond ordinary consumer repair. Hopefully you backed up your song files to disc. Like any computer hard drive if you did not back up your song files you will loose all recordings when the technician repairs your 2488.
Good Luck!
