Problem for Zanussi FC1200W Front Load Washer
Zanussi FC1200W
Washing machine does not spin and drain water.The machine is a Zanussi Electrolux Essential 1200. It washes but does not spin and drain. Could someone be of any assistance please?

I have done all what you have suggested.Also checked the back of the machine and found a white ball in the black pipe.I was not sure whether that is built in or an obstruction.
Can I remove it?

have you checked the filter behind the flap on the front of the machine, this could be blocked. if the machine is full of water though you will have to manually drain it by putting the grey outlet hose into a bucket or a washing up bowl. you will also need one or two towels to place on the floor because there wil still be a bit of water left in the ipes even though the drum is empty.

does the machine sound like its trying to pump out?
if it does there could be a blockage in the sump hose( black ribbed pipe running from the drum to the pump). when all the water is out of the machine, unplug it from the mains and tilt it back (you may need someone to hold it for you). looking underneath the machine the sump hose will be in direct view, just give it a squeeze and you should be able to tell if there is any obstruction as these pipes are usually very soft. if an obstruction is found then the sump hose will have to be removed and cleaned. however if no obstruction is present then there is a strong possibility that the pump will need replacing.
