Re: wireless internet not working
Check in the device manager to see if the network drivers are installed for the ethernet controller and network or wireless controller. If there is a yellow question mark by any device, then it needs drivers. If the are there, then unistall them and reboot. The machine will find the devices and reinstall the drivers automatically. If they are not, then follow the link bellow to download the drivers. There are several A105 models, you will need to choose your exact model, then it will take you to the driver list.

Try the internet using an ethernet cable and if it works fine the trouble is either with the wireless router or with the computer of laptop wireless adapter.
If you can connect a smartphone or tablet to the wireless router the problem will be with your computer. You can try ensuring the wireless aqdaptor drivers are properly installed by using the device manager and troubleshooting from there. In the case of a wireless dongle it would be worth uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them.
what you would need to get is a wirless router. If you have high speed internet then you can plug the internet modem into the wireless router and then plug your main pc into the router via an ethernet cable and then set up your laptop to pick up the signal wirelessly. If you have dial up internet then you would still need a wireless router but it is a little more complicated. You could hook up the router to your main pc and then set up internet connection sharing so that way your laptop could pick it up wirelessly. hopefully this helps.
The IBM R31 2656 doesn't have an intergrated wireless network card. SO to connect to the internet via wireless (802.11x) you need a Wireless Card (USB or PCMCIA) a wireless router to receive the Signal and a Internet connection for the router (DSL or Cable modem)
are you using wifi connection, I mean wireless connection or you're hooking up to a LAN network or through a modem connection?
If all this connection wouldn't worked out anymore, try reinstalling your Operating System!
if you already have an ethernet card installed in the laptop, then it should be fine. did you try rebooting the modem that you are hooking the laptop to? Sometimes with different ISPs that is one of the major issues.
