This problem is caused by a faulty gas valve.

Pilot light will no ignite when I follow steps on door. What may be the problem ?

Defective thermocouple. If it pilot light goes out after letting go of the button, the thermocouple is not producing enough voltage to keep gas going to the pilot light. Heat on the thermocouple produces it own power. It is a safety feature to prevent the main gas from operating when there is no pilot light.

On a Royal mod.RFT-50 deep fryer, the pilot light lights but when I turn the temp knob to light the main burners i don't get the gas needed for lite up and the pilot goes almost out.

If you have a gas pressure regulator for the fryer, the leak limiter on it is probably clogged with grease. Replacements are available for a few dollars.

Pilot light lights but is a low flame

There is an adjustment screw on the main gas valve, usually under a cover screw. It will be near where the small pipe that goes to the pilot light.

Deep fryer pilot light switches off automatically

First make sure that the thermocouple tube is directly in the pilot light flame. If it is, then the thermocouple is defective.

Pilot lights however when I turn the temp up to where I want it set to pilot goes out. The thermostat makes a ckicking sound when I tune it right before pilot goes out

Hi there.
Verify if the gas pressure fed to the fryer is correct. Check also for errors/ loose wire connections on gas valve, thermostat and hi limit, last possible cause, the thermopile is weak and cannot give enough power to energize pilot and main valve at the same time.
Regards.

I light the pilot everything is fine then when i go to turn thermostat on pilot light goes small and burners dont light and when i turn back to pilot the gas ignites and goes out

Sometimes certain models turn off if you touch the thermostat before it lites...
We've seen this happen many times, so you would need to light the fryer first, wait until it's stable before turning your thermostat to desired temperature.

Pilot will lite, but burners will not lite when you turn the thermo. up

Make sure gas valve is in the ON position after lighting the pilot. Try jumping the thermostat terminals together to see if burner comes on. Three things could cause this problem 1. bad operator on gas valve 2.low millivolts 3. thermostat not functioning

Dean SM35GM pilot light low and burners won't ignite

The first thing that you need to check is the gas regulator in between the incoming gas line & the fryer. There is a plastic plug in the top, if this regulator is covered in grease then the regulator is not being vented and you will never get the burners to fire. Next is the gas valve, close to where the pilot tube comes from the valve you will find a screw about the size of a dime or smaller. WITH THE T-STAT TURNED TO THE OFF POSITION Remove that screw cap & down inside there is a plastic adjustment screw, with the unit pilot on, adjust that screw counterclockwise to the desired flame height. You won't need more than a couple of inches, now cycle the t-stat on and the burners should light. If they do not e-mail me at capt_rick1912@yahoo.com & I will walk you thru it.
