How do you unlock a radio if battery had went dead

Car radios have security codes to prevent them from being stolen. If they lose power, such as when replacing the battery, they lock out. This makes them worthless to anyone trying to steal them. You need to have the unlock code to reactivate the radio. It is provided with the vehicle at purchase, or by the retailer when selling replacements

you will have to insert the code for the radio because when the battery is dead the anti theft code is activated .

Check inside the glove compartment there maybe the code is in there. Call a dealer service department sometimes they will help you at no charge

you need to go to a service station with a Tech 2 scanner that can be used to unlock the radio, they are the only ones that can do it

Yes, alot of cars have this feature. It is a anti-theft feature so if it is removed you need a code to unlock the radio (or if the battery is unpluged). If it's an after market deck than it should be in the manual if no manual than try googling it. If it is the factory deck than more than likly you will have to go back to the dealer to get the code. you have to call Mitsubishi and give them the serial # and model # on the radio . they will look it up in the computer ans give you the code
