Does Cinego have a fuse? It does not turn on. If I keep my ear close I can hear that it has a discrete buzz but won't turn on.

Where is the fuse located in my Cinego?

  • parea Jul 28, 2008

Guys, this is a standard answer that comes with Cinego's manual. I know these things. I expect more from you.
So, in the hope that your business is not a scam and there is a real person that reads the questions.

Where on earth is located the fuse in my Cinego?

  • parea Jul 28, 2008

Do you have a something more than the user's manual that comes with the product? Something like a technical map.

  • parea Jul 28, 2008

Is there a possibility that it does not have a fuse?

I opened it up I see the transformer but I do not see the fuse.

Maybe the fuse is covered by the transformer assembly or the back of circuit board, try also to check for loose connection of parts or cracks of solder joints this is also can caused the unit will not power on..Cold solder issues - each
    component is soldered into small
holes on the printed circuit board which in turn connects said
    component to the
other components. Due to time, heat, use, some solder joints would be
    cracked
or loose. It is possible that the cold solder is still minimally
    connected
(hanging by a thread). When the unit turns on heat would be
    generated which would
be sufficient to further loosen up the solder joint to the point it no
    longer
provides electrical contact. Jarring the unit creates movement inside
    enough to
re establish the contact, sometime good enough sometimes not enough.

Again, since the unit still operates (sometimes) then it is highly
probable that there are no defective components. As you have surmised, it is
possibly a loose connection, solder joints are "connections"
except that molten soldering lead is used to attach/connect the component to
the board, "loose connection" in this sense is equal to "cold
    solder".

Again on the assumption of no defective parts, then seeking a more
    experienced
buddy for the soldering might be to your advantage. This is of course
    in
addition to the possible electrical hazards when repairing....

    Good luck:

I experienced the same thing, only to discover it was the ballast that
powers the lamp. I believe INFOCUS repairs for $390.00 per the
technician that I spoke with on the phone at INFOCUS.

There is no fuse that will fix this problem. The ballast is attempting to fire up and can not. This unit requires service. If the fuse was open, there would be no sound at all. Although extremely rare, it is possible that a bad lamp can cause this. Have you tried replacing the lamp? If so, then you will need to seek a service center.

May be it's power supply fault. You must remove cover and do measurements using a multimeter, at transformer input and output, observre the condition of capacitors, resistances etc.
If you are not familiar with electronics troubleshooting procedures better take it to an authorized service station to figure out what the problem is

Dear Sir/Madam,

When the lamp has reached maximum lamp life (about 2000 hours), the projector will display the following message automatically: "Lamp has reached its end of life! lamp replacement is suggested!" when this message appears, change the lamp immediately.

Note: Warning: Hot surface! allow the projector to cool for at least one hour before changing the lamp.

Note : when changing the lamp module, be sure not to touch the lamp itself, as the oils from your skin may damage the lamp.

step 1. Turn off the projector and allow to cool for at least one hour.

step 2. disconnect the power cord.

step 3. Open the compartment.

step 4. Remove the 3 screws from the lamp module.

Note: Make sure you do not drop any of the screws into the lamp compartment.

Thanks
Good luck

My Cinego D-1000 lamp won't strike. I never got a lamp life message. What could it be?

Do you hear it trying to strike the lamp, like a spark type noise. If not then perhaps the ballast circuit is faulty, assuming that the power comes on and the leds light up.

Cinego turns itself off after 10 mins

Hi There

Check if your lamp has any faults like discolouration or marks on it.

Otherwise it could be Mainboard that will need repair or replacement.

I would try cleaning the fan or possibly watching the fan and make sure it continues to spin nearing the 10min window. Also those fans can be intermittant or fail when the become warm or the bearings could be going bad or gawling. Is the fan noisy at all? Also the lamp could be going bad or the ballast power supply. Projectors are tricky puppys. But you may also check the safety switch near the opening for the lamp. There should be some sort of blue switch which is closed or activated when the cover for the lamp is put back on. Hope this help you out. Let me know if it does. I am trying to become and expert advisor. Thank you in advance. Jay

Mine does the same thing and I just replaced the bulb after waiting almost 6 months and I purchased one directly from Radio Slack. It will turn on for about 10 seconds and then goes into shut down.....At three hundred dollars I can't see putting another bulb in, when this one has less than 50 hours on it.

What do you think
