Question about E-Machines emachines (emachinees) CD-ROM Drive
Hi, you need to check whether the device is detected by your Windows and if you have verified that both on BIOS settings and under the My computer icon the Cd-rom is recognized, it only means that this is already a Hardware issue. You can contact the manufacturer of your computer so that they can replace the drive and it should be under warranty so that you won't be charge for the repair.
You can also try this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929461/en-us and then delete the upper/lowerfilters which is blocking the CDW/DVDROM to appear on your windows.
Hope this helps!!!
