You need to firstly clean your printheads. This often solves most issues. Do not forget to reset your ink levels too. cheers lilacgerry

PIXMA MP970 InkJet Printer copies ok but does lay ink on documents though printer sounds like it is printing. Have driver for Win 8

This is quite an old printer by this stage and I wonder if it is capable of responding to windows 8 drivers.
Asking Canon through the internet might be a good move.
But Firstly , I would do a complete cartridge clean and make sure they are actually working. You may have to do this twice but it uses a fair bit of ink. If no joy then remove a cartridge and then replace it Does the the printer recognise it or show you that it is full ?
If it says "not recognised" you need to get some replacement cartridges. That should fix it ?
Hope this helps, Michael Tubb.

I use 3rd party ink and why my color ink light up at my printer pixma mp 287

This will either be because your printer is having trouble recognising the cartridges or warning of low ink because the cartridges have been refilled. Connect a computer to the printer and it will hopefully give you more info.

If your printer cannot recognise the cartridges try wiping the contacts on the front of the cartridges and re-installing. If your printer still doesn't recognise the ink cartridges then sadly they will need replacing.

If it is just a low ink warning then carry on printing untill the printer thinks the cartridges are empty and prevents you from printing. You can them get around this message by pressing the stop/reset/resume button for 5 seconds and continue printing. More information on this can be found here: http://www.refreshcartridges.co.uk/igloo/the-infamous-canon-resumestopreset-button/

Hope this helps.

Canon MP510 wont recognise cartridges

Using replacement cartridges that come without a chip seems to be the problem I had with the Canon Pixma 510 printer they are cheaper
but if they do not show the ink levels then its inconvienent so I have but Canon products with a chip and they work perfectly.
