Question about Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ9549L Top Load Washer

Machine won't spin and smells like burnt rubber

My Whirlpool Ultimate Care II Model # LSQ9645KQ0, will not spin on the spin cycle, the motor will just run and then a bunt smell will happen. Is there anything I can do to fix it or should I just buy another one. I had this problem twice before in the past 3 years and spent $100.00 each time for the repairman. If I can fix this myself it would make me very proud in lieu of all this inflation, I'm going to have to learn to fix everything! Hope you can help.

I may have overstuffed my Whirlpool Ultimate Care II with too much clothes. At first it was working fine but when i went back to check on the clothes it was still filled to the top with water, the washer was making a weird noise and it wasn't spinning. I thought that if i took some clothes out, it may help it to spin but that didn't help. i took out all the clothes and tried to drain the water but it wouldn't so i had to do it by hand. I'd like to know if the motor needs to be replaced or if i should just get a whole new washer. if so, how much do they run for normally?

Find out what part was replaced before. If you have it repaired again, watch everything that they do. If the washer is not spinning but is draining, it may be the belt. You might try tipping the washer over forward and having a look at the belt. It may have slipped off or may have broke.

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ8243HQ0 weak spin, wet clothes

if it has a belt, it may be slipping, but you would smell a bit of burning rubber.in high use times(4 to 8 pm), the current of electric supply is low, thus less power. third, motor may need to be replaced. plz rate-bozcro

For the spin cycle, it spins still, but with less velocity. are these belt driven, where the belt is getting loose?

if you're smelling rubber - yes... otherwise the motor controller is at fault.

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II washer went dead during fill cycle

Start with the capacitor. It has a funny smell when they go bad. The motor will smell bad as well when it burns up.

Whirlpool top loader won't spin

If you are lucky you need a set of clutches about $45. If you are unlucky you would need a transmission.

Since it spins after you help it, I am guessing clutches.

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II drum does not spin.

Depending on your washing machine model, the drum and motor are connected by 2 plastice yellow circular pieces, with a black rubber washer in the middle with holes where the pegs or rods go into. The 2 plastic circular pieces have 3 pegs or rods if you will, that connect to the black rubber washer via 3 holes. Sometimes, one or both of the 2 plastic circular piece pegs get broken off or the rubber washer cracks and breaks apart, so that the motor will not turn the drum. If thats the case, you can purchase the 2 circular pieces and black washer piece as a set.
