I have an Amana ARSE66ZBW The ice maker quit working and would not get water to the ice maker. I replaced both the primary and secondary water valves thinking that was the problem but water still wont go to ice maker. It comes out the dispensor though. Is there a separate solenoid that actually makes the water valve flow water up to the ice maker? Thanks, Mike

Ok, I defrosted the inlet and the water tube is a trough instead of a plain tube. Still no ice, its still not sending the water from the inlet water valve up to the ice maker. So if the ice maker tells the valve when to send water Im guessing it would be bad or is there a different solenoid that tells the valve to send water to the ice maker?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Dodge, I defrosted the inlet and the water tube is a trough instead of a plain tube. Still no ice though. The line running from the water inlet valve to the ice maker still has no water in it. So if the ice maker tells the valve to send water up to it, Im guessing the whole ice maker unit needs to be replaced. Unless there is a separate solenoid somewhere that does that?

    Thanks,
    Mike

mike if you take a jumper wire in insert in into the (T) & ( H ) terminals holes on the icemker heat it will advance the motor / pull the wire after its moved about 1/3 of the rev . this will start the harvest cycle and just as it complete's the cycle it will call for water . and if no water the head is bad .. the valve that lets the water in is the dual valve / and on filter models it does go through the filter . ( but filters don't stop the water .) you may want to try filling the ice tray with 8 oz of water . and when it freezes the thermo in the head will call for the harvest and it it does not then the head may be bad . and the freezer must be 15 deg or colder 5 deg is best to cycle the icemker . if too warm 15 deg to warmer it will not make ice , mm hope these help . feed back pls ..

Water is not dispensing into ice maker unit from the white flexible plastic hose comeing from rear wall of freezer compartment.

Sounds to me your ice maker fill tube is freezing over due to a leaking or seeping water control valve. This symptom can only be fixed by replacing the dual water control valve=> 12002193 Secondary Water Control Valve See where it says=> Ice Fill Tube at top of refrigerator? Then turn Ice Maker Off and then disconnect the water line to the rear in back at top as illustrated in that picture. You will see water most likely oozing by the water valve. Here is a short Clip done by another and found on my sites and Youtube. Just watch when he pulls the Ice out of that tube. If this does not help please ask and I will again respond, Thanks, Sea Breeze

No water to ice maker. I want to check the water solenoid to see if it is getting power. I don't have a diagram. is it a 120 volt solenoid? and when does it get the signal to open and allow water into the...

The water control valve gets its signal from the ice maker itself. Then begins the cycle of about six different functions until the ice ejector forks go to the position you see most (home) Then it tells the water control valve to open for about seven (7.5) seconds. You may test the true voltage from the female connection with a OHM meter set to AC voltage. Just have someone press the dispense water control. You can also check each sides coil windings for resistance or OHM's and they should be the same or very close to the same. Use care in the area of the coils and make sure the wires are not wet. One of the two wires for each side may be active even without pressing dispense or having ice maker call for water. Another thing I noticed is that you have two sets of water control valves. The problem is about as much with the Primary Water Control
Valve Part Numbers=> 12544002 and Secondary Water Control Valve => 12002193

My ice maker quit making ice on my amana bottom freezer

Hi, If your ice maker has stopped making ice then you need to check these things.
The lever that controls the ice maker has been pushed up which turns it off. If you have a red lever, pull it down to the wire and if you just have a wire then just pull down the wire to start your ice maker up.
Make sure the freezer temperature is below 10 degrees F If the freezer is too warm ice production will be poor because the ice maker will not cycle properly.
The ice maker fill tube may have ice formed in it, blocking it. Use a hair dryer to melt the ice. Watch out for the plastic parts, so that you do not melt the plastic. Also check the water inlet valve and the shut off valve, to make sure it is not plugged with debris. The openings in those valves are very small.
Check the gears in the ice makers to see if they are broken or stripped. Also look to see if the ice rake is broken. All parts in the ice maker are replaceable individually, If you find broken parts replace them.

Take care

The ice maker is not working.

Your model has two sets of water control valvels on back and behind the rear cover. Most likely the problem is the secondary dual water control valve part=> 12002193 That controls water supply to the ice maker has a bad coil. You may just need someone to OHM the coils to see which one is bad.

01bea02.jpg It also could be thr primary wster control valve part+.
Then you have the primary valve part=> 12544002

Ice maker freezing up

If it is only the fill tube that is freezing up, or getting full of ice, than your water valve is leaking (letting drops of water thru to your ice maker and filling the icemaker fill tube up and freezing). If this is the case, replace the dual water valve (part # 1071263) located in the back of the refrigerator, just follow the water line from your wall into the refrigerator. Make sure you turn off the water to the refrigerator and also unplug it. The dual water valve is the one that has two water lines, one going to the icemaker and one going to the water dispenser. On this model, I think you only have one water valve. On some you have two, the primary water valve and a secondary water valve (the dual valve). If this is your case, I would highly recommend you replace both. As far as the Refrigerator side freezing things up, I think that is a whole different issue. Please post back.
