Yeah, to release the numbers lock Windows has to be up and running. You can try a system repair with your recovery or operating system disc. If this doesn't work, check out the link bellow to make a bootable password breaker disc.

Stuck on login - does not recognise password

Restart in safe mode, choose administrator account login, reset the PW for your login account. If no worky, create a new account for yourself and pw (dont forget it). Copy (overwrite) all files from old account in the users folder into new folder. Restart with your new account. Delete old folder is an option if you want.

How do i log on to the safeboot mobile data security on my pc

Answer: To get into Safe Mode with Networking: 1.Log out and reboot your machine. 2.When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly. 3.Select Safe Mode with Networking from the resulting menu. 4.Login. If malware has changed your password, try logging in as Administrator. By default, Administrator has no password. 5.The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different. 6.When you're finished doing what you need to do, log out and reboot back into normal mode. Hope that helps.

Hi.i cannot get to my laptop because i forgot entry password

You can salvage your old user account by logging on as the "Administrator" user. Once you're logged in as the admin, you can reset your old user password. The Administrator user (by default) is similar to a "superuser" and has the highest access level to reset any user password. If you don't know what your Administrator password is, you can reset that by rebooting into Safe Mode.
The best option here is to reset your account password. You can do this using either 1 of the 2 methods suggested by Microsoft Knowledge Base article #321305. In my opinion, the second method described on this page is most likely the easiest route: Reboot Windows in Safe Mode. Click Start, and then click Run. In the Open box, type the following command, and then click OK: control userpasswords2 Click the user account that you forgot the password for, and then click Reset Password. Type a new password in both the New password and the Confirm new password boxes, and then click OK. Good luck! Side note: To access Safe Mode, Click Start -> Shutdown (or Turn Off), and choose 'Restart'. Once the computer restarts, press F8 repeatedly on the keyboard until a Boot Menu appear (this *must* be done before the Windows boot screen appears). Finally, choose to boot Windows in Safe Mode and press Enter on the keyboard.

You can reset a lost or "forgot Windows password" with 4 methods below:
1. Another valid administrator account which can normally log on.
2. A password reset disk or a repair disc, which is created in advance ( before you lost password ).
3. Third-party software to create a bootable password reset CD/DVD or USB, like "Windows Password Breaker".
4. Re-install. Will lose data.

I got a dell latitude laptop from work. The only problem is that because it is old and was taken off our inventory list I can't seem to get it unlocked. The admins had forgotten the password for this...

Here's how to reset your password:
  1. First reboot Windows XP in safe mode by re-starting the computer and pressing F8 repeatedly as the computer starts up.
  2. Then (in safe mode) click Start and then click Run. In the open box type "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes, of course)
  3. You will now have access to all the user accounts, including the administrators account and will be able to reset the lost password.
  4. Just click the administrators user account (or the target user's account), and then click Reset Password. You will need to add a new password in the New password and the Confirm new password boxes, and confirm by clicking OK.
  5. All done, you have recovered the lost password
Hope you'll have it resolved soon :-)

are you using windows XP if you are log into safe mode tap f8 upon powering the system till you get windows advance menu select safemode, in safemode log in try logging in as admiistrator leave password field blank if it logs in go to control panel and click user accounts change or manage user accounts select you log in with the lost password change the password or better remove the password then restart system log in using the user name u normaly use if it log directly that is good then ccreat a new password under that account profile ^_^ this should work but for vist and win7 it might be imoissuble to log into an administrator account you must at least know the password if you created one if not then reinstalling vista and win7 is the final option ^_^

Cant rember password

Restart the computer. Immediately after the screen goes blank for the first time, or after the BIOS post ends, start taping the F8 key repeatedly. The Windows Advanced Options menu should appear. If the menu does not appear, restart the computer and try again. If the Keyboard has a F-Lock key, you may need to press it first right before pressing the F8 Key. This will have to be done fast before tapping the F8 key repeatedly. Once you are logged in under safe mode, you should be able to create a new user. Do that. Then restart again and let it boot up normally. Log on under the new user.

Those steps will get you onto the computer. As far as retrieving a lost password goes. I'm not sure that you can do it.
