Question about Philips 51PW9303 51" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
Hi everyone. I was wondering if someone could solve my problem. I was recently given a 51 inch tv and when I turn it on, the white is way to bright! I've tried adjusting the brightness and all of that but still nothing. Someone please help. Also does anyone notice an increase in their electric bill from this tv? I just got mine and was just wondering. Thanks for the help.
First disconnect power and remove rear cover look to see if any dust has settled on tubes. I think on that model you can remove screen frame by removing speaker grill, remove a few screws and then pullin forward on screen frame. Then screen w/ brackets will slide forward exposing tubes and mirror. This will allow you to look down in tubes with power on and see if any debris has grown in coolant chamber. This will tell you if you need coolant replaced, or if you need adjustments and/or circuit board work. Do not try to do adjustments if tubes are cloudy. Just have coolant replaced and the set will look like new. Good luck, Russmann.
