Hi aventae, the P4SXQ motherboard will only support Intel Pentium 4 or Intel Celeron processors 400MHz CPU's.
Biostar's link for the P4SXQ MB.

GD8 motherboard

The GD8 mobo spec says that the bopard is only compatible with P4 and Celeron D processors so no you cant swap it! Generally the Athlon 1800+ is a better processor but it depends on the mobo, BIOS, RAM setup etc.

Compatible AMD cpu

According to what I have found, this is an Intel Motherboard. You will not find an AMD chip to fit this. This is a socket 478 mobo. Heres the specs site: http://www.motherboard.cz/mb/matsonic/MS9367E.htm

My notebook heats a lot!!!!!!

Hello, here is the deal, AMD and INTEL both have CPU's that have low heat. In your case you would have to buy a new laptop to switch from AMD to INTEL. The laptop motherboard take's only one socket type, for exp.. you would have to get another TURION at faster speeds or less speeds in the same socket family. Try to keep the vents open, sometimes the vents for the air from the fan come out the bottom not the back. You might want to invest in a laptop fan stand.

depends on what you plan to do with the cpu amd are good but a 3200 may only run @ 1.8 to 3.2 ghz depending while a intel 3200 will run 3.2 ghz.
I believe intel are more stable & run cooler than AMD but AMD benchmarks on Games better but run hotter (so get a good cooling fan & heatsink both pentium / celeron d & intel dou / dual core / core 2 dou and amd x2 have 2 cores (but watch your front side bus and cache the higher the better but the more $ also) then You need a good stable mobo that supports the chip you get (I preffer asus & msi for Gamers and biostar / msi for home users)
