SOURCE: I have a Kenmore Gas range. The major stove top

This could be a problem with the gas regulator, gas supply pressure or the burners need to be cleaned. Here are the cleaning instructions for the burners. If you are still having problems with the burners I would recommend having the gas pressure & regulator checked.

While oven on range top front is very hot

I do not know the unit but check if the oven vent is near the front. It is also possible the door seal on the top of the door is failing.

What do I do with the oven door that now has drip marks inside the seal?

You will not be able to clean the marks. They are cooked-on food. You will have to replace the door glass.

What is the difference between a stew and a casserole?

A stew is cooked on a stove or over a fire and a casserole is cooked evenly in an oven. As well, casseroles are cooked either covered or not, while stews are usually covered so they don't evaporate.

The glass cook top of my whirlpool range cracked and i can`t seem to find a model number anywhere on the unit. help

You might find the tag in one of these places:

Cooktop/Range/Stove
Gas:

  • Inside the cooktop--if the top lifts up
  • On the outside, bottom of the unit
  • Inside the top of the vent duct--if it's a “downdraft” unit
Electric:

  • Under one of the surface burners, or inside the cooktop--if the top lifts up
  • On the outside, bottom of the unit
  • Inside the top of the vent duct--if it's a “downdraft” unit
Gas or Electric Oven
  • On oven side of the door jamb (with the door open)
  • On the lower drawer jamb (with the bottom drawer open)

Staining between glass in oven doors of Kenmore electric stove

I had the same problem with my Kenmore elite. Also told they would not cover it under the warrenty. Seems like alot have this issue with these inner glass panels.
It is a nightmare to remove the glass yourself.
But before you go and pay $150 for a service tech, try this:

Under the oven door there are large vents. If you remove the bottom drawer, you can get better access to them. Or you can remove the oven door entirely and lay it on a blanket...this is not that hard to do.

Buy a bottle cleaner brush with an extra long handle.
Tightly tie a sock around this and spray all over it with Windex. Push thru the vents and wipe, wipe, wipe.
It might take awhile to get it all clean, but it works.
You will need a long handle though..and something flexible. So that bottle cleaner brush works well.

I did it about 6 months ago and worked great.

Unfortunately, just recently I cleaned my oven after allt he holiday cooking spills.
And voila...tons of dark streaks running down the inner glass.
So I will do the windex trick again.

They do need to come up with something better considering the costs of these ovens!!

Does stove-top need downdraft if microwave has oven-hood combo?

We have a stove with no downdraft, and a microwave with a hood above it. It works just fine. I expect you could keep your downdraft and put a microwave without a hood above it, and that would also work. I don't think, however, you can buy an above the range mocrowave oven, that slides in on brackets, which will not have a hood.

Stove top burners on glass stove seem to have a governor on them

My initial attempt at solving the problem was to contact the GE customer service phone line.  When I explained the problem, the representative had no clue how to solve it, and referred me to the service organization.  The representative at the service organization was equally clueless, and suggested scheduling a service call at $100 plus parts and labor.
This is all quite disappointing; these customer and service representatives obviously have no training in solving the simplest of problems.  This is okay if GE's goal is to maximize service revenue.  But, I can tell you I would be very unhappy to have a technician visit my house, for $100, only to be told I was using a pot or a pan that was designed incorrectly for a glass cook top.
I solved the problem by going to the web site www.geappliances.com, opening the user manual, and looking under trouble shooting.  The first problem mentioned is exactly as described above.  The problem is inappropriate cooking appliances.  It is not possible to transfer heat efficiently if the pot you're using has a rim or lip on the bottom.  That is, the pot must sit flat on the glass cook-top, it cannot be raised off the cooking surface by a lip that elevated the pot from the surface.  These pots are designed to be used with gas flames, not a glass cook top.
