Printer prints multiple pages with DPR1260 print server

Hi,
I have installed a DLink DPR1260 for wireless printing. My printer is Epson CX4800. During setup, it prints test pages fine, but, after that, when I try to print anything, it keeps on going. It prints multiple pages or even incomplete pages and doesnt stop until I delete the printing job. Can you please help?

I have the same exact problem... if you look closely at the queue while the printing is going on it says 'communications error' before the print job completes and then it starts back over again... It is not a copy issue, but some sort of comm issue. I also have an epson printer

I have the exact same problem. D-link printer server and epson printer. Sometimes it will do one page fine, others, it prints multiple ones and sometimes only half the page.

I have the same problem. It seems like when there are graphics involved it takes 2 or 3 attempts to get a completed print job.

Has anyone found a solution to this?? Thanks.

I have the same problem. I have 2 printers connected to the device at 192.168.1.55. The HP Officejet prints fine. However the color laserjet prints multiple copies, even on a print test. It's wasting paper and toner!

I was having the same problem when I added a Windows Vista PC to my home network. My older XP systems workd fine, but the Vista system would keep printing. The following fix worked forme in vista, may work in XP also.

1. First, be sure you have the latest firmware in your DPR1260. Version 1.24 is what I am using.
2. From the printer window (or via controlm panel) select your printer, then select Properties (either right click, or from the menu via File-Properties)
3. In the Properties Window, select the Ports tab. You should see your printer highlighted and checked, under the port heading next to thcheck box you'll see IP_192.168.x.x, under descriptio Standard TCP/IP Port, and undr Printer, the name of your printer.
4. Click the "Configure Port" button, be sure "LPR" is selected, not "RAW". Under LPR Settings, check that the "Queue Name" matches that in our DPR1260 status screen, and be sure SNMP Status Enabled is not checked.

The problem on my Vista machine went away when I changed from "RAW" to "LPR" settings.

Hope this helps.

Hi dear,
you have to see, When you give the print command how many pages are set to print in printing option of the page and you told about test page, it set to one as default.

Will linksys wirless g print server woork with epson cx4800 printer

Yes,
This is a USB All-In-One printer and the Linksys Wireless G Print Server supports USB pprinters.

However,
For the cost of the Linksys print server, you can purchase an Epson NX515 that has built-in WiFi. It would also be less hassle if the Linksys/CX4800 has a problem. You would not know which device is causing the problem.

Print server configuration in canon mf4150

I had the same problem. After many hours of trial and error, I got two XP laptops and a Vista desktops configured. Be sure to use the latest firmware from Dlink. Disable all s/w firewalls. In my case Norton Firewall from Yahoo was a problem. The Vista PC was configured to print within 30 mins and the XPs took a while. I couldn't get the print server to appear in the My Network Places A couple of the guys who left comments on the product at Newegg actually have a good solution. The solution involves setting the printers up as local printers with standard TCP/IP ports that point to the IP address or the URL ("dlink-"6_last_digits_of_MAC_ID) and USB port number 9100-9103. You can google how to set up local printers w/ TCP/IP connections with USB ports on the internet. Note the Scanner will not be recognized but at least you can print on MF4150.

Can't connect a Dlink 1260 Print server through my Linksys wireless G router

A couple of things to check for:

  • If the wireless network is encrypted on your router verify that you have the right encryption key programmed on the print server
  • You are connecting to the corret router (Verify the SSID of the network - SSID being the networks name)
  • Make sure you are in an acceptable range , not 500 feet away from the router
  • Verify that the print server has a connection to the printers connected to it
  • Try rebooting all of the equipment (router , server, printers)

Unable to print

I have had the same problem. 2 computers had been able to print fine then 1 stopped (other was still fine). I use Network Magic as well- noticed that the IP address for the print server was different on each computer.
I deleted the 2 printers on the computer that could not communicate to the server, logged into the server and set its IP address to static at the address listed on the computer that could print. Next ran the set up for the printers on the problem computer again.
Test pages now printed out fine.

Printer offline

1) Ensure you've run the D-Link supplied automatic configuration wizard. 2) Also ensure you have "Netbios over TCP/IP" enabled in your network settings. 3)Ensure you turn off "Bidirectional Printing" in the Ports tab and "Enabled Advanced printing features" in the advanced tab, for testing purposes. I know the printer connectivity is officially supported by D-Link (thru an independent 3rd party test facility) but it seems they may have had NetBeui installed, which is an outdated networking protocol. Try the first 3 options I gave, if they don't work, then let me know. ZT3000 "Beta tester of "0"s and "1's"
