Hi,

You need to install a TV tuner card to your PC. They normally come with an installer CR for the drivers and the softwares required to watch TV/Cable channels in your PC. Thereafter connect the RF OUT of your Matsui VX 1106 to the ANT/CABLE IN of the PC's TV Tuner card. Use the accompanying software of the card to open and watch TV Programs. Select Channel 3 or 4 depending on what channel the Matsui VX 1106 is set to send signal (normally a selector switch at the back). the same programs to watch TV would also allow you to record said TV programs however in your case it is a "video cassette tapes"

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Hello,
Better Take your cassettes to any Digital Studios where they can convert them into CD from which you can store the contents into your desktop PC..As your player has only Rf ports you cannot do it at home directly..Thank you!!..

Regards!!..

How can I transfer my vhs tapes to dvd from the LG RC185?

I think you use the "dubbing" button. I would strongly suggest reading the user manual for the specific step-by-step procedure as this is an integrated unit (see page 39 of the below link "Copying from VCR to DVD") - unfortunately LG's own site chooses no to use PDF and you need to install a plugin, so I suggest you download a PDF copy from doocument.com here: http://doocument.com/pdf/dvd-recorder-video-cassette-recorder-produktinfo-34042.pdf

If it won't PLAY VHS tapes it must have a serious mechanical problem (if it even loads) or its heads are glommed up, so it obviously won't record them either. When's the last time you ran a cleaning tape through it?

Solve the load or playback problem and it will probably record.

Time and poor storage conditions are the mortal enemies of tapes. Store the in a 'played

I have a sylvania Video cassette Recorder/DVD player. Is there a way to copy the DVD onto videotape with this machine

It depends what you want to copy on DVD on to the video. If it's a commercial film, forget it! The machine/disc will have macrovision on it which will destroy any transfer to video. Otherwise there should be a button that says copy or dub that will let you record other types of DVD recordings to tape. But I can't understand why you would want to as the loss of quality would be bad.

Converting NTSC home Video tapes to Pal DVD or NTSC DVD

You need either an NTSC DVD recorder (keep in mind that the US has 110 voltage, while Australia does not), or a computer card that supports NTSC. Some video capture cards support both NTSC and PAL (often switchable). Choose good quality, and pay attention to video/sound sync - some bad quality cards loose sync. Once the tapes are transferred to DVD - and keep it native NTSC all the way, they can be played on virtually any PAL DVD player/TV combo. With an NTSC source, it's best NOT to convert to PAL, while with a PAL source in the US, you'd need to convert to NTSC or only show the DVD on a computer (where NTSC/PAL doesn't matter).

I have the manual. Are you trying to record something live? if so:

1) Turn on both the DVD/VCR and your TV.
2) Switch the input selector on your TV so that the signal from the player appears on the TV screen (this is usually something like 'input 1' or 'line 1' and so forth)
3) On your remote, set TV/DVD-VIDEO to DVD-Video, then press SELECT VIDEO to control the VCR. These buttons are at the upper left hand corner of the remote controller.
4) To record from a cable box, turn it on.
5) make sure the tape is longer than the total recording time.
6) insert a tape into the VCR.
7) press CH +/- on the remote to select the channel or line input video source to record.
8) select the tape speed SP/EP (SP provides better quality, EP provides three times the recording time as SP)
9) Press the record button to start recording. The VCR display will display the message REC.
