The screen on my computer has just gone to small writting and only shows half of the picture

Try doing a operating system Repair kind of like installing windows again but without erasing all your data. THis should bring it back to its original settings.

The blue screen of death usually means that there is missing files that prevent windows from starting up. Re-installing windows will probably fix the problem.

Blue screen when turned on. No writting or words.

Try tapping F1 or F2 right after power on. This should bring up the BIOS screen. If it does, look for an item called "restore factory defaults" and select this. The info stored in CMOS may have gotten lost and without it, the system doesn't know what to do after initial hardware tests.
Check back and let us know what this brought (if anything.)

Tomtom text not in english

I do not have this particular model, but I am sure the fix is the same.

Go into the setup (press the screen when a map is showing)
Press the Blue Wrench (this is "change preferences")
Use the right arrow tro scroll to the screen with the flags icon. You can change your language there. As you can see, there is a lips icon which changes the voice; that is why you can have the voice and text in different languages.

Fried MOBO component or lost drivers?

1) unplug power cord for 10 minutes
Then when booting
2)Try setting your BIOS back to default
3) Remove all fittings on M/board except foot Video and memory. Including hard drive DVD CD etc and see if computer boots if it does try fitting others one at a time (with computer off of course )rebooting each time
These are only some suggestions to define if M/board is OK
