Canon i560 colour printing problem

I get blue lines across colour prints in standard print mode
and it only seems to print with yellow in high definition mode. I have cleaned the print heads thoroughly even taking it out and rinsing them with water to no effect. The ink cartridges are new and genuine Canon

There are no patterns in the D E and I columns of the print head alignment print out - I aligned the other columns but lines still there

Have you run out of ideas for this problem I haven't heard from anyone?

  • pontypots Aug 05, 2008

Have not heard from Ekse for a week and have not had a solution for the Canon i560. Have changed cartridges and done a print head alignment test but still have blue lines across colour prints. In the alignment test columns D, E and I did not have any patterns in them.

A second advisor said change the print head - I have done this and it works.

    Thank you

Hi-

Check if your unit has a paper thickness lever, it should look like a switch in which there is symbol for plain or envelope( thick papers) try changing position when printing. If there is no thickness lever, run several blank sheets of paper to clean the rollers.

keep us posted. Thanks!

Have you printed the nozzle check pattern to ensure that the ink is ejected correctly?

Also with lines its recommended to do a Alignment on the printer head but you have already done that, do it again.

ALSO try a PRINT HEAD DEEP CLEANING

1 Ensure the printer is on.

2 Open the Printer Properties dialog box.

See Opening the Printer Properties dialog box directly from the Start menu

3 Start Print Head Deep Cleaning.

    (1) Click the Maintenace tab.

    (2) Click Deep Cleaning.

    (3) Select the ink nozzles to be cleaned, and then click Execute.

    All colors: All nozzles
    Black 3eBK: Black ink nozzles
    Color 6C,6M,6Y: Color ink nozzles

    (4) When the confirmation message is displayed, click OK.

Be sure you’ve configured the printer driver to use the type of paper you loaded. Only a few printers have automatic media-detection capabilities, so you usually have to indicate the paper type manually using the printer driver, which is sometimes called the configuration utility.

To access the printer configuration utility,

    1. click Print from the File menu in the program from which you are printing.

    2. In the dialog box that appears, most users will see a button labeled Properties or Setup;

    3. click this button and you should see a number of options related to your printer, including paper type.

    4. Select the appropriate paper type, such as glossy paper for photos, and you may see less banding.

Note that you may have to do some searching in the configuration utility to find an option for paper type.

Line across the page

  1. Make a copy by using the platen mode and ADF.
  2. Send a print from your PC or print out the Counter list from User tools/counter button.
  3. Try printing one colour at a time - Black, Cyan, Yellow or Magenta.
If when printing, there is no line across the pages, so you need to clean the optics mirrors and exposure glass.
If the line appears in both 1 and 2 mentioned above, you have the fuser roller or drum damaged.
If the line appears in all colour prints, check the fuser or transfer belt.
If it happens only with one particular colour, check that drum unit.

Good luck and please rate me, thanks.

The upper 2/3 of the word is either red or yellow

let the cartridge be new but the colours are got mixed with each other so this problem as the canon cartridge has the sponge in the cartridges that sponge material has soaked the colours from each other and this has happened.to solve this problem two things needs to be done 1)the head needs cleaning as the colour will be filled in it now.
2)the cartridges needs to be replaced.
