A tech cleaned my desktop pc of icons ect. Now I get a 404 message when I try to connect with Google. Is there a fix for this?

Usually 404 is a forbidden domain port. If you are in an office under a internet server than surely the tech blocked the port that good would gain access. If you are at home then the configuration is in your your routers DHPC server and Google is blocked.

I have a HTTP error message 403 after uninstalling spy doctor, how do i fix it.

http error 403 --means "forbidden access error" and is an HTTP status code signifying accessing the page or resource you were trying to reach is absolutely forbidden for some reason, in this case you cant access that software makers address or html.
So if you unistalled the ANTI-SPY program, accessing that page for the software maker is now not accessible to you, as the cookie has been delted from your system or is now become corrupted.

i would , if you can, restore factory settings to your computer by taking the CD recovery set and reinstalling the OS from scartch -- its healthy way to get your system to run more smoothly.

if you do not have the CD set , clcik here www.restoredisks.com

Certificate error on web site.

This is basically an Internet Explorer 7 Website’s Security Certificate problem! You have to self-sign the certificate on the client computer or add the URL manually to the trusted security zone. When you are trying to access a secure web page, you receive the warning message:

"There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority."

Or

"Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept data you send to the server."

To fix this issue, you can follow either of the methods:

Method 1:

You have to install the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 (Windows SBS) self-signed certificate on the client computer. To do this, follow these steps:

  • In Windows Internet Explorer 7, click Continue to this website (not recommended).
A red Address Bar and a certificate warning appear.
  • Click Certificate Error button to open the information window.
  • Click View Certificates > click Install Certificate.
  • Click Yes, to install the certificate, when warning message appear.

Note: For Windows Vista users, right click on Internet Explorer icon. Select Run as Administrator.

Method 2:

Add the URL to the Trusted Sites security zone:

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Go to Menu bar > Tools > Internet Options.

    tool.jpg
  • Click Security > Trusted sites > Sites

    sec.jpg
  • Type the URL in the Add this website to the zone text box > uncheck Require server verification >Add > click OK

    trust.jpg
  • Click OK to exit.

Now you have added the URL successfully into the Trusted Sites security zone.

I have HTTP Error 403 how can i fix it

By far the most common reason for this error is that directory browsing is forbidden for the Web site. Most Web sites want you to navigate using the URLs in the Web pages for that site. They do not often allow you to browse the file directory structure of the site

I've been trying to connect to my work e-mail from home. My employer allowed staff to have access from other computers. I've had access since February of 2006. Recently my son upgraded windows to windows 8...

You can do either of two things:
In Internet Explorer, choose [Internet Options] under the [Tools] menu selection.
[Advanded] tab
scroll down to the "Security' section
UN-check the "Warn about invalid site certificates"
[OK] [OK] [OK]
close and restart Internet Explorer.

#2:
If not satisfied with iE8, you can un-install it and the previous version that you had will re-install itself (and keep all your favorites, etc. intact).
[Start] [Control Panel]
[Add/Remove Programs]
Scroll most of the way down to [Windows Internet Explorer 8]
[Remove]

How to unlock a http error 403

Hi, HTTP Error 403 is an error message which means that you are not authorized to view the web page which you are attempting to load.
The 403 error is also known as "Forbidden". The 403 Forbidden error is most often seen when you are attempting to browse to a directory which has directory browsing permissions turned off. The actual error message you receive will depend upon your web browser. For example, Internet Explorer says "You are not authorized to view this page."
Follow these steps if you get this error:- 1.Make sure the URL is entered correctly 2.Try the URL with a different file extension (.html, .htm, .shtml, .php) 3.Go to the main page of the site and look for a search function 4.Go to Google and search for a similar page

Www.ssnet.org cannot be accessed from current browsers ,why?

Interesting, I received the error too. This is what the error said.

This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage.

Apparently SSNET limits access from certain web browsers. You will probably have to find out what web browser they accept traffic from and install it.
