To view the stored videos on your iPod they have to be in MP4 format. You can right click the video file in iTunes and click "Convert To iPod" or something similar. The only problem with this is some file types are converted without sound. To fix this download/purchase a Mp4 video converter and convert your files then sync them using iTunes.

To STORE the video file, but not be able to watch it, go to iTunes when the iPod is connected to your computer and check the "Removable Disk" (Or something similar, seeing how the software may have updated) option and eject your iPod. Reconnect your iPod and go to "My Computer" and you should be able to access your iPod as a removable disc.

Why can I only fit 831 songs on my 8 gig iPod touch

It should store at least twice that number of songs in mp3 format, and up to 2000 in the AAC format. The best guess at this range is that there are other files taking up storage, the most likely being a few videos.

Use iTunes to check the storage usage, as described here

The file structure of the iPod Touch is locked down so you won't be able to download video files unless they are from the iTunes store.

Can not put music video's on my ipod

1 Locate videos. There are four main places where you can find legal videos intended for iPod use. The iTunes store (where videos can be directly downloaded) and video podcasts are certainly the most popular, but digital copies from DVDs as well as personal digital videos can also be put on the device.
2 Import your videos into iTunes. If you have downloaded the videos from iTunes or have downloaded a video podcast from the service, this step has been done for you (as well as step 3), and you can proceed to step 4. However, if you are trying to put digital copies, or personal videos on the iPod, put all of the videos in a central folder on the desktop. Go to iTunes and select the "Add file to iTunes" to import the contents of your folder to the iTunes program.
3 Convert non-iTunes files. iPods only work with MPEG-4 videos, so if you are uploading videos of other formats, such as AVI or WMV, they will need to be converted with the iTunes program. Highlight the videos you need to convert and right-click to pull up a sub-menu. Select "convert" to begin the process. Alternately, you can drag the files into the iTunes conversion queue, which is on the right side of the program. You will see a notice when your files are finished converting.
4 Sync your iPod. When your new video files are ready, simply plug your iPod Classic into a USB port and then drag the video files you wish to put on your device over the iPod icon. The icon will then change to "syncing" status. Wait a few minutes while the videos are transferred. Once the icon has changed back to normal, simply press the eject button and unplug your iPod.
i recomend trying the arcsoft media converter 3 for starters and go from there

How do i get my ipod in disk mode

You have to first enable the function for using the iPod as a Mass Storage Device. Connect the iPod to your computer and open iTunes. When it is connected, go to the main screen for your iPod (in iTunes) and check the box that says Enable Disk Usage.
Then, you will be able to find the iPod in 'My Computer' and store files there.
