i am trying to upload the firmware, but cant do this cos when i try to add the usb driver disk all 3 of my pcs (all new) say "The operating system is not adeuqate for running usb casio camera device driver" - i managed to upload the firmware to a memory card, but when i load the memory card into the camera, i dont know how to get to a menu to use it, as when i open the slide cover, the camera turns itself off. how can i download this firmware from the memory card straight into the camera when the original error message is displayed and then the camera turns itself off. tnx

That mean that you have to go to the Casio service
Casio repaired (change lens system) for free under waranty.
The problem of this camera is the lens system.

Ok, here is an option from sidekar.

go to casio's site and download the new BIN (flash software for your casio).follow the instructions...more times than not the camera will work ,but the error message will still appear...if U are using movie modethis will not matter because it uses E.I.S. instead. as for takingstills you can use the auto or image blurr to activate the E.I.S.(Electronic Image Stabilizer)..

The problem is with one of the U.S.M. ultrasonic shaft motors, thereare 2 of them one in the vertical plane and the other in horizontalplane..almost...more precisely angle'd axis. The "H" U.S.M. is the onethat is bad or intermittent..it might work again..(i have had thishappen) there is NO fix for it, unless are skilled in hi-tempceramics. So just a replacement of the imager block and supportcomponents must be done and have to be replaced as one.

but as per Casio, you will have to send it to a local service center or consult your warranty for the device for parts and replacement.

good luck, i sure hope you get this one running

My casio exilim Ex-V7 digital camera stabilizer won't work.

The software won't fix your problem. It's the dropping that's causing the camera malfunction.

Camera stabiliser not available

Here is what I have found in Casio website: (http://faq.casio.com/faq/exilim/faq_type_b.php?PRODUCT=EXILIM%20EX-V7&CATEGORY=REC%20Mode%2FRecording%20Techniques)

Q23. What should I do when the error message "Camera Stabilizer is not available." appears? spacer.gif A23. Turn the camera off and then back on again. If the same message appears after you turn power back on, contact a CASIO service center or your original retailer.

You don't. That is something that Casio will have to fix. Call 18007062534 and choose option 2. Tell them you have a stabilizer error and they will tell you how to go about sending it in.
