Hi Peter and I think there was someone else with a similar problem,
I finally received the new cover today. I wasn't able to work out how to get the pin out but what I've done is separated the plastic part from the metal part by undoing the two screws on the cover and swapping them over. All fixed as it was the plastic that was broken. When putting them together make sure the edge of the metal furhtest from the screws is slotted under the retainer on the plastic part and I found a small blob on the end of the screw driver made getting the screws back in a lot easier. I didn't want to use a magnetic screwdriver but they may be all right.

Hi, waiting for the replacement part, I had a look at the broken one . I think you may be able to replace just the plastic part without removing the pin. I'll look closer when I get the part.

How i can mount a new battery cover on Olympus SP-560 UZ

i just purchased a new cover for $33 from uscamera. part#omp vg4293. You will need a jewlers philips screw driver. Make sure you lay out screws where they came out. They're different. Looking at the bottom,Remove 1 screw under battery door. Two screws on bottom my mount. Open little door on left for mem card and remove 2 screws. Open little door on right side where cable goes, remove 2 screws. Then gently on end wher door goes, pull back cover back just enough to remove old door and reinstall new door. Press back together and install screws.

BATTERY DOOR BROKEN

My new battery door is now installed! Our local Radio Shack repairman was able to do it and I watched over his shoulder as he did it. Believe me, it is not a job for the faint of heart. The screws visible on the bottom of the camera are just a small part of what has to be removed. It seems there are also a bunch of screws under the rubber on the right side of the camera, and at least some of them must be removed after peeling the rubber off. Even then it was necessary to sort of force the old door off and the new door on. Like I said - not for just anyone!

Battery Cover for L11 Coolpix

Take the 7 screws out around the edges, place a flat tip screwdriver between the battery door and the case, pry the case apart just enough to get the pin out the side using a pair of needle nose pliers, remove the old door and put the new one in place and reinstall the pin, squeeze the case together and reinstall the screws.

Canon A75 Battery door

Never did it on an S1, but on other models it required removing the back face of the camera to access the battery doory hinge pin.

Examine your camera, and if this sounds feasible, remove all screws along the perimeter of the camera (keeping track of their sizes and where they came from, write it down with a crude drawing of their locations/sizes). Also look for screws in the battery compartment, and any visible screws behind flaps/doors. Once all perimeter screws are removed, you should be able to remove the back face of the camera by prying it open from the bottom. Once opened, the pin holding the battery door should be able to be slid out, enabling removal of the old door. Then in reverse slide the pin into the new door, and reassemble the camera and its screws.

About battery door broken in Kodak CX7330

I've got 16 of these cameras and had to replace the door on 3 of them. (I'm a teacher)

it is quite simple, but there are little tiny screws and some dexterity required!
to replace the battery door, you need a super small screwdriver (I've used both an eyeglass size and the screwdriver that came with my son's tech deck!) . you'll have to unscrew all of the small screws that hold on the back of the camera. remember which screws go to which hole - because some are longer than others. once the screws are out, you'll have to gently pry off the cover. carefully - you dont want to crack the camera case. you'll also want to be careful not to touch the sensor, which will be exposed with the case off.

NEXT you;ll have to pry the little spring out of the battery door to actually remove the old door. you'll probably have to use a screw driver to pull the spring on the new door back enough to fit back into the holes. that's really all there is to it. replace the cover and the screws.

Batter door replacement

I have the 530, You have to remove the 6 screws holding the covers together. The back cover comes off in one piece, you also have to remove the front cover too (which is held with 2 inner screws, you better use a magnitized screwdriver) please use caution not to disturb the inner board and parts.
Then use a thumb tack to push the holding pin completely thru(watch the spring so not to lose it) remove old door replace with new door, remember to replace the spring before pushing the pin and door back in place.....
Good luck, this can be frustrating if you dont have the right tools, and patience!

How to replace battery door?

I just replaced my battery door. You have to take every screw out of the camera. I used a philips eye glass screw driver. Then, pull the front and back covers apart carefully, its only plastic. There is a pin that holds the door to the rear cover. If you push the battery door button back and fourth the pin will start to show out the side of the camera. I pulled it out once it showed with small pair of needle nose pliers. Just reverse the procedure to install the new door.

Replacement Battery Cover Assembly

If you're handy, you can replace it in about 3 minutes. Don't attempt it unless you're willing to risk tearing a thin flexible circuit under the rear cover. Looking at the camera from the rear, remove the screws on the right hand side ( 2 ? ) then the screws across the bottom - open the card door, remove the card, and wedge a knife blade between the front and rear cover halves - the card door will be loose with an attached spring coming free. No need to remove the rear housing completely, just enough to expose the tracks for the battery cover hinge. Remove the old door, noting the position of the opening spring at the hinge, by angling one hinge out first. Insert the new battery cover and the card door in reverse order.
