If you replaced the CMOS battery, you need to go into the BIOS settings and make sure that the date and time are correct and all the settings are ok. There should be an option to restore default settings. Save and exit. Then try again. Make sure that the boot order is set correctly too.

Hi,
You forgot to tell us the Motherboard type.
Click either F2 or Delete( depends on the type of board ), after you started the comp and shows the memory and HD capacity on the monitor.
Bios setting will then pop up, then go to maximum default settings....save and exit.... it will restart by itself.

Hope that helps!

I'm trying to reboot my e-machines w3107 to it's factory settings, and i had no luck, i lost the recovery cd, what can i do?

The E-Machines W3107 ships with Windows XP home edition. I will provide support for Windows XP. If you have upgraded to another version of Windows let me know in the comments section and I will provide further support.

The first thing you should do before performing any kind of system restore is to back up any important data on your computer. To do so, either save the files you need on disks, an external hard drive, or other storage device. If you need help with this, let me know.

Once you have everything you need backed up it is time to start the recovery process. Restart your computer (Start> Turn off computer> restart). Once your computer boots back up, remove all the disks from your disk drives (CD's, floppy disks, etc.), and unplug all devices connected to your computer except for your mouse, keyboard, and monitor. This includes your modem (if applicable) and printer.

After all disks and devices have been removed, open the start menu, go to "all programs," then find the "e-machines" folder. In that folder, click "eMachines Recovery Management" and select the "restore" tab at the top of that window.

More than likely you have not yet set a recovery password, so click the button that says "password settings." Follow the onscreen instructions to create a new password and click "ok." Once that's done, click "restore system to factory default."

You will then be prompted to enter the password you just created. Do so, click "ok," then click "next," then "finish." Your computer will then begin recovering.

Stay by your computer as it restarts and begins to install Windows again. This will take some time, but you need to stick around to follow the onscreen instructions for configuring windows.

Thanks for using Fixya! If you need anymore help, feel free to leave a comment in this thread and I will get back to you.

Dear sir , i have an intex branded desktop with 17' TFT monitor . i m using windows XP in this system . sir today i increase the resolution of visual from XP and just after that my monitor gives an error...

Obviously the graphics card is not capable of supporting the resolution you have set so it go's blank.
Although you can set the resolution via the computer the system will not change it back when you save that setting even though you see nothing, the computer doesn’t know you can’t see anything.
You need to go into the monitors menu (a button on the monitor front panel) and set it back to a supported resolution or default.
Start at 600x800.
Once you see an image on the monitor right click the desktop go to properties then settings and slid the screen resolution bar to the right to a resolution that suits you don’t go to high or you will get the same problem.
1024x768 would probably suit you.
Hope this helps.

Com puter monitor is disorted with colors at the bottom

You can only be sure it is the monitor if you try it on another machine to see how it reacts. Ask a friend.

Meantime.

Shut your pc down - remove the power cord. Take a deep breath and plug it back in. NOW -- turn the pc on and tap - TAP - not tap tap tap - like that - but - tap --------------tap---------------------------tap--------------------------------------tap
Like that - F8 - tap F8 - this will cause you to go into SAFE MODE - this gives you only basic use of drivers that effect the way your monitor does it's job. If it is GOOD -- the screen is like you want it as far as clarity. -- go to my Find your CONTROL PANEL if you must - search it - - right click and select Device Manager - REMOVE the Monitor - what ever it shows, It might display a word like - plug and play -etc - Default Monitor - what ever it shows - remove it - reboot the pc and the driver will auto reload. You have most likely gotten a corrupt driver. If not you will of course need to replace the one you have. Try another monitor first to be sure.

Best of it

LG Moniter W2242S Not able to set up instelation disk buckled need driver

He's looking for the colour profile. I have one of these monitors. The controls on the device and the menu system are counter-intuitive. The Windows Vista default colour profile is sufficient, and what's on the disk is pretty much useless anyway. Just perservere with the menu on the monitor itself.

The lcd monitor does not have a picture and will not shut off when it has power.

§ Turn Off the Monitor.
§ Unplug all the Cables from the back of the Monitor.
§ After unplugging all the Cables press and Hold the Power Button at the Front of the Monitor for 20 Seconds.
§ Plug all the cables back.
§ Turn it on.
§ See if you get the Picture on the Monitor.
§ if you don’t get any Picture then.
§ Unplug the Cable which is connected at the Back of the CPU.
§ If you get the Message "No Input Signal” or "Check Video Signal" it means that Your Monitor is Fine.
§ Try doing the Factory Default settings from the menu Buttons at the Front of the Monitor.
§ If you don’t get any Message then it means you Monitor has Gone Bad and Needs to be replaced.
