UNIDEN BEARCAT UBC 60XLT

HI Gavin93, i am also having trouble with the l/o on my scanner, i tried what you said to do in your last posting, but is still lock out on all channels. I also noticed that when i try to enter a frequency, i press manual then the channel then the frequency then manual again it allows me to do all that but then when i press manual the last time it comes up with an e? It worked 6 months ago but since i took it out of storage it is doing this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! thanks!

Thanks for getting back to me Gavin!!!

I ended up sorting the problem, i rang a uniden service mob in Tullamarine in melbourne, and he told me to do a manual reset of the unit. What i had to do was: turn the unit off and press the man button the 2 and the 9 at the same time, then while holding those three buttons turn the unit on, count to ten and release your fingers from the buttons, then turn the unit off and back on.

All channels were still locked out but this time when i entered frequencies, each channel unlocked! Thanx for your time!!

The "e" represents Error, which means you made an error in your entry. Unfortunately, your scanner may be confused, meaning the computer is "stuck" on lockout and cannot get unstuck. I have the same scanner with the same problem... now. I had it looked at by Uniden's engineers, it cannot be fixed unless you replace the computer. They told me it would be best to buy a whole new scanner, probably a new model. So I did. I'm sorry I couldn't fix it for you. But Uniden said you'd be better off getting a new one. In my opinion, don't get a Uniden, get a Radio Shack/Realistic scanner, they're ten times better and are easy to use. For the best Realistic scanner, get a Realistic PRO-2006.
That's the one I have now, it's a gapless frequency scanner which means it can scann everything all the way up to the 1300 MHz band.

Sorry about your scanner though.

Best regards,
Gavin93

Damn, then I wasted money, they told me I'd have to get a new one.

Thanks for telling me this, I'm gonna get my money back!

    Thanks very much!

Why can't i listen to aircraft pilots & tower on my Uniden bearcat BC60XLT-1? Our airband frequency here is 108-137 mhz.

Your scanner does not receive frequencies between 54 and 137 MHz, and there's nothing you can do to enable reception in that block. Your only option is to purchase a scanner with air band coverage. Here are the reception ranges of the BC-60XLT-1:

29.0-29.7 MHz 10 Meter Amateur Band
29.7-50 MHz VHF Low Band
50-54 MHz 6 Meter Amateur Band
137-144 MHz Military Land Mobile
144-148 MHz 2 Meter Amateur Band
148-174 MHz VHF High Band
Above bands in 5 kHz steps
406-420 MHz Federal Government
420-450 MHz 70 cm Amateur Band
450-470 MHz UHF Standard Band
470-512 MHz UHF "T" Band
Above bands in 12.5 kHz steps
