Question about Graphics Cards

My graphics card keeps resetting

I have an Asus EAH2400PRO Graphics card and whenever I play one of my games, it freezes the screen and resets my graphics card, then it shows an error message saying that my graphics card resetted. Do I have the right graphics card for gaming or is there just a problem? Apparantly every where I look, my graphics card isn't there.

Go to Start/control panel/systems open systems folder go to device drivers
near the top of list will be display adapter click the little + by it a drop down list will appear right click the graphics listed go to properties/drivers click update driver it will then go on internet to find driver

The graphic card usually crashes due to over heating. Keep the gpu cool. you may use a pedestal fan as well.

On my asus its keeps saying graphics card is to high to play my game like my sims 3 its a windows 7 64

Pete - That's a message telling you that your graphics card doesn't have the oomph to run the game at that high a resolution.
I Think from that message you're using the onboard graphics and not a separate faster graphics card.

Try and downlaod the ATA Catylist sofware. By default most Ati cards do not set up the 3D graphics portion of your card. It will also give the most up to date driver too.

If there are still problem while playing the game. Lower the games graphics settings. or move up to the 512MB card.

Asus Graphics Card

The 2400Pro graphic card uses very light power, so if your powersupply gives a true 250W or more you should be fine. However it also depends on what is your total configuration, as in whats your CPU, how many hard disks, etc as these all consume power.

A good way to check how much your machine actually needs is to use the PSU (Power supply unit) calculator. A good one i came across is http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp.

You can find your how to calculate your current PSU wattage from this interesting discussion http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/207120-28-calculating-amps-dual-rails.

Graphics card problem

It sounds like the card is overheating during play. If your video card has a fan on it make sure it is turning. If it does not have a fan then you may want to look into adding some more case fans or larger ones.
