I had the te error and the tech came out to fix it and didn't know that they were stacked. he said he punched a series of buttons to reset the computer. It has been working fine.

A "tE" error code is more than likely the "thermistor" as CoolTech stated but fortunately it is not that difficult to service and doesn't require a technician (warranty expired for me, consider this for your own situation). It supposedly can't be serviced by untrained individuals (thus the directions to call for service) but the thermistor can be found easily by tilting the machine on its back. It is mounted to the back of the drum housing. I removed mine after getting a "tE" error...cleaned and problems since! No screws needed to be removed. My thermistor is a small, round, black rubber grommet with the metal sensor pushed through the center. I removed the entire grommet. It easily pops back into place. The face of the grommet and sensor appeared to have buildup from hard water which easily came off without the use of cleaners.

The themistor is a resisitive probe found at the bottom of the washing drum next to the heater connection. It fails and is not a matter of cleaning but replacement. There are simple service manuals availible online but the are simple and you must have some common sense in order to follow them. You must remove the top of the machine then the control panel and the the front of the machine in order to reach the part on the wm2688hwm. I would suggest ordering the part and having it in your hand first before tearing the unit apart to make reassembly easier. I purchased mine through Sears Parts & Service. (only took 45 mins talking to an east indian named CHAD). Tear down takes appox 30 min. with beer breaks and reassembly takes more if you wait a week for the part. (There is everyone confused yet)(Call for a service Tech if you are)

I had this problem on my lg steamwasher wm2688hwm.
I had to remove the top panel of washer and disconnect all wiring clips and tubes from the off white rectangular plastic box monted in washer towards the top left. Then i took the screws out of the thermostats and pulled them out and cleaned them. What i found was that they had all been scaled over probably by hard water. Then i took the rubber cap off box filled it with water and shook it up and flushed it out. put back together and works just fine now.

Te error code means the thermistor needs to changed.  You will need to call a qualified LG technician to resolve this issue.  Sorry, no washy till fixed.

I think it is actually a 'tE" error code. Thermistor error. Pretty easy fix. And under $10 part. Repair videos exist on YouTube, or I would suggest that you look at videos and see how they all suggest you do the repair. Top off, control panel off, front off. Fairly complicated but very doable. If you get the part and study the parts diagrams, you can do the part replacement by turning washer on its side and do replacement from underneath. Takes a little feeling around but much easier.

LG washer front loader what should be the ohm reading test good or bad for the thermistor

A thermistor varies its resistance according to temperature. As long as it is not showing infinity or extremely low, we need to know what the make and model are.

How can I fix this?

Hello. There is an LE error that means "fill error". There is also a "tE" error that means "sump thermistor failure". You are probably getting the tE error--the thermistor is located at the bottom front of the washer tub in the center. If water is leaking from the bellow(the rubber part that seals tightly against the door), it might be spilling down onto the thermistor wires, shorting it out. With any leak, this will be an INVOLVED repair. My suggestion is to call for service--to reach anything in the front of the washer internally, the front panel must be removed--this is complex, and must be done carefully, especially if the bellow is leaking and needs to be replaced. I hope I helped you!

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

LG wm2487hrm Washer not draining water. tE flashing. I drained water out of front and ran 2nd cycle same issue.

tE is a thermister error. It is a temperature sensor at the bottom front of the washer. tE can also be caused by a heater error. Some models have a seperate thermister, some incorporate it with the heater. It is very difficult to replace without taking the front off the machine.

Getting a "te" error code -- a heating issue?

I had the tE or te error (an L with a line through it) error on my LG front loader and my local appliance store sold me the thermistor for $7. I layed the unit on its side and accessed the thermistor through the bottom. It plugs into the bottom of the tank. Blue and white wires. No screws and 1 tie-wrap. (Leave the rubber grommet in - just pull the thermistor rod out.) Works like a champ!
