You can't set rules or filters on your emails like your regular email client. But if you use an IMAP supported email service like gmail or microsoft exchange, then you can create the rules on the server which will automatically filter the emails into folders. iPhone will just see the emails in their different folders.

Hello,

What type of server that your e-mail account works with?
If you are using POP3 or IMAP account, please configure Incoming mail server.
You should try the given below solution to resolve the occurred issue:

Sol 1:
Open "Microsoft Outlook" >> Click on "File" tab >> "Account Settings" >> "Account Settings", locate your account and click on change.... then click on "More Settings" to configure Incoming mail server.

If you are using Microsoft Exchange account, check if you use cached exchange mode. If not, enable it. Click on "File" tab >> "Account Settings" >> "Account Settings" locate your exchange account and click on "change...."
Under server settings, check Use cached exchange mode.

You can check another setting to help resolve being able to send but not receive e-mail messages.

You can set up Microsoft Outlook to check for new e-mail messages at intervals of one minute to 1,440 minutes (one day).

On the "Send/Receive" menu, point to "Send/Receive Groups", and then click on "Define Send/Receive Groups".

Select the group that contains the e-mail account that you want to regularly check for messages.

Under Setting for group "group name", select the Schedule an automatic send/receive every x minutes check box.
Enter a number from 1 to 1440 in the minute's box.

I cannot send a pictuer to my own e-mail. Please help. Windows xp Frank

Open your email programme it could be outlook express, Pegasus, or outlook, (Here I am using outlook express). Click on file then new message, in the to box type the email address you are sending the email to. In the subject box type in whatever your email is about (like how to send a photo by email), click in the big white box below and type your message. Click on insert at the top of this new email message and then on picture, the picture dialogue box comes up, click on browse to find the folder you saved your photograph in. You might have to keep clicking on folder names in the big white box till you find the right folder name. in the to feild you need type your email add, then click on send

None of my sent messages will show up. My sent box is always empty when i click on it.

You havn't specified if you are using Outlook, Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail or you are using a Online Website to check the mail.

I am giving you the following steps do that hope that works...

For Windows Mail, Outlook, try these Steps:

1. Click on Tools (Press Alt and T together, if does not appears) on the the task bar on the top.

2. Click on Options. You will see a new window on screen.

3. In the Preferences tab you will see "E-mail Options", click on that. A new Window will open.

5. For Windows Mail you will find this option in Send Tab.

4. Check "Save copies of messages in Sent Items Folder". Then Click on Ok.
Again on Apply and Ok and that will be fixed.

***************************************************************************

If you are using a Online Mail Service then you will have a Option "Save a Copy" or something alike, make sure that is checked.

.....and you done

Hi, When I launch Windows Mail, it sends and receives emails with no problems. When I press the send/receive button I get the message "Some errors occurred while processing the requested tasks....

what email service are you using, is it hotmail, yahoo's pop3, gmail, your isp's

I suspect is a setting in the advance settings in windows mail, possibly in the advance tab. I would suggest for you to enable logging in the maintenance section under the advance tab in settings that way if there's a problem this can be logged into a text file that will help with the troubleshooting process.

I have something similar happening to a client, he was using his ISP (internet service provider's account), we concluded that the issue could be the actual isp as when the computer was moved to another location (different isp) in my shop, we attempted to recreate the problem, and the problem was gone.

also check with isp, there may be something in the configuration that may have been missed.

My e-mail folders are not being updated.

Hello,
It looks like you are using a "IMAP" mail account on the blackberry and the PC, which is recommended for blackberry users.
If you move a mail to a folder, then the mail should also be accessible in that folder in the other device, however the folder has to be part of the IMAP account, and should not be a "local" folder in outlook.
This is what is explained on microsoft website:
"Downloading an IMAP folder list displays all folders that are created with your account on the server. You can then select which folders you want to subscribe to or view on your computer.default.aspx?assetid=za790050011033To display the folders when you want to subscribe or unsubscribe
  1. In Mail, in the Navigation Pane, click a folder under your IMAP account.
  2. On the Tools menu, click IMAP Folders.
  3. Click Query.
default.aspx?assetid=za790050011033To display the folders in the Microsoft Outlook Navigation Pane
  1. In Mail, in the Navigation Pane, click a folder under your IMAP account.
  2. On the Tools menu, point to Send/Receive, and then click Update Folder List.
Note In the IMAP Folders dialog box (Tools menu, IMAP Folders command), if theWhen displaying hierarchy in Outlook, show only subscribed folders check box is selected, only the folders you are subscribed to will appear when you download folders"

Hope this helps

there are so many back up softwares on Outlook Express. Feel free to find them on download.com - this is the automatic and easy way. e.g. Outlook Express Backup, Outlook Express Recovery etc.
The hardway -
Another way is to create a folder on your outlook and name it archive or whatever u want it.. this is where you put the old emails/ the not so important ones.. then after that find the folder where it stores the .dbx files. It's called Store Folder.. Then just copy it to another folder then delete that on your outlook express.
If you can't seem to get it.. just use the softwares readily available for use on download.com

I am unable to get inbox-outlook express to send or recieve e mail. It says it is not responding

The usual cause of this error is a missing or damaged folders.dbx file. Either that or it is using a read only attribute. To fix this bug:
· Click Start
· then Find
· then click Files or Folders.
· In the Named box, type folders.dbx.
· In the Look In box, click your main hard disk (this is usually drive C), and then
. click Find Now.
· Right-click the Folders.dbx file, and then click Rename.
· Type folders.old, and click OK.
· Start Outlook Express again. This creates a new Folders.dbx file automatically.
