From the error report, it sounds like you have a bad memory chip (RAM).
If it's under warranty, contact Dell for a replacement.
If it is out of warranty, go to a vendor that sells RAM and replace it (such as www.crucial.com)

Exactly the same error message on the huge Dell Inspiron 9400 purchased July 2007 - running on power. The underneath was terribly hot - not battery area but absolute rear where the connections are. At switchon now can only get a black screen with no option to F12.
When it comes on it has Error 00161,00165, and 00301
