Decalcification Decalcification refers to the removal of calcium deposits which form over time on the metal parts of the coffeemaker. For best performance from your Brew Central Thermal™ Coffeemaker, decalcify the base unit from time to time. The frequency depends upon the hardness of your tap water and how often you use the coffeemaker. The flashing Clean light will indicate when you should clean your coffeemaker. If the Clean light begins to flash when the coffeemaker is turned on, it is telling you that the calcium buildup is interfering with the functioning of your coffeemaker and the flavor of your coffee. To clean, fill the water reservoir to capacity with a mixture of ¹⁄³ white vinegar and ²⁄³ water. Press the Clean button. When the self clean light glows, turn the coffeemaker on by pressing the on/off button. The Clean light will shine steadily. The coffeemaker is now in Clean mode. One cycle should be sufficient to adequately clean the coffeemaker. When the cycle is completed and the five beeps sound, the coffeemaker will shut off. Turn the coffeemaker ON to see if the Clean light continues to flash. If it does, turn it to OFF and then repeat the cleaning procedure with a fresh solution of vinegar and water. If the Clean light no longer flashes, turn the coffeemaker to OFF and then run one cycle of fresh cold water through the unit before using the unit again to brew coffee. Notes on the Clean F unction Pressing the Clean button cancels all other settings. If it is pressed accidentally, press it again to return the coffeemaker to all its previous settings. Pressing ON/OFF will also exit the Clean Mode and turn the coffeemaker OFF. Directly from the DCC-2400STR manual
In the manual that came with the coffee maker, the beeping is the freshness alert. When coffee is finished brewing it beeps 5 times. Every 15 minutes it beeps to let you know your coffee is 15 minutes less fresh! I just purchased this coffee maker and was looking on here how to dis-assemble the beeper. Whomever came up with the "freshness beeper" on a coffee pot needs a new job! Usually when I make coffee the whole house is asleep, now the beeping is waking everyone up! Very frustrated with this coffee pot!
Is it still beeping? ;) It will beep if you have the automatic brewing programed and the grinder and it's lid are not in place.Once you have put the grinder back in place, push the small white button down that is on the grinder lid. The beeping will stop. Don't press the program button again or it will start beeping again...but if you do, just push that white button again.
The constant beeping means that something is out of place - make sure the charcoal water filter holder is in place, even if there are no filters inside. Make sure the grind chamber and all parts are in place. Make sure the filter basket is in place, and that the door is closed. Finally, make sure the lid of the coffee maker tiself is shut and that the lid of the craffe is firmly in place. If everything is in place, it should stop beeping. Turn the coffeemaker off, and then on after all of this is done.
I have the same problem with the exact same coffee maker I have tried pushing the 1-4 cups button. That worked for a couple weeks, now it is back to only brewing half the water in reservoir whether I push the 1-4 button or not. It is very annoying.
Check first that both filters (the water filter and the grounds filter) are in place correctly. Also check that the white tab in the grind cover moves freely when the lid is closed. (You can use a fork tine to test.) If that doesn't solve your beeping issue, contact http://www.cuisinart.com/support/us.html or 1-800-726-0190. I did and they are sending me a new unit at no charge.
The machine will not run if the covers /for the coffee grinder, the filter basket and the machine itself) are not properly closed.
It will beep and stop running if it is turned on when one of the covers is open or if one is opened before the end of the cycle. The beeping will stop as soon as the cover is closed.
To start the machine again, press the ON button.
Is your grinder in and the lid down? My coffee maker (grind & brew) started beeping after I cleaned it and turned the left knob clockwise with the grinder still disassembled. There's a little button that is depressed when you close the lid with the grinder in there (I'd guess it's a safety feature). I pressed down that button, and the beeping went away.
The constant beeping means that something is out of place. Take apart the coffeemaker parts completely and put them back in their proper place (don't forget to close the lid). The beep should stop. If it doesn't stop, unplug the unit for one hour and call Cuisinart to see if it is still in warranty.
