Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5084 CPU upgrade

It is possible but usually not worth the hassle.
Changing to another CPU chip that fits your motherboard may only show a 3-10% performance change.

See videos of CPU replacement in laptops like yours:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPdZ4PQhqyo
or
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9a0hIPdVmc

In general, you are better off adding more RAM (memory) or replacing the hard drive with a faster SSD (Solid State Drive) to make a laptop "fly". Your laptop can hold a max of 8 GB RAM:

http://www.crucial.com/upgrade/Toshiba-memory/Satellite+C655+Series/Satellite+C655D-S5084-upgrades.html

In MOST laptops, slower 5400 RPM drives are used, and this is the main performance bottleneck. A 7200 RPM drive or (better yet) a SSD drive will help matters, as will more RAM (the most cost-effective speed increase).

Access fan and heat sink

And food for thought,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPIlOuxAWRE

WEAR an ESD wrist strap, and have it's alligator clip attached to a good ground source.
Average cost is around $3 to $6.

A CPU (Processor) is the hardware component, that is the MOST susceptible to Static shock.

Is it possible to use intel duel core E5400 processor with MSI B75MA-P45 Motherboard? or any other motherboard support DDR3?

Hello here is the cpu list, for the asus board:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboard/P5QLCM/#support_CPU

Here is the msi site:

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/B75MA-P45.html#/?div=Basic

Your current cpu will not fit on the msi board, because it is a different socket.

The asus board has socket LGA 775, and the msi board has socket 1155.

You have to buy a new cpu for the msi board, to make it work.

Here is the cpu list:

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/B75MA-P45.html#/?div=CPUSupport

If you want to keep the socket 775, you probably have to find a used mainboard, because this socket type is phased out.

Some online stores still have this mainboard type available, but a new mainboard will have the DDR3 ram socket.

Good luck
