You may want to reset your camera to default settings
I looked into this, and I searched "change settings" on this website:

How do I get my canon 6d to focus when using my canon zoom lens ef100-400

When you put your camera to M with the main dial, it should not have any effect on the focusing. With M you only can choose your Aperture, Shutter speed and ISO manual. With P, the camera will choose a setting it thinks is the best, but you are allowed to change it like another speed or Aperture setting. The camera will try to compensate with ISO, when you are out of the normal limits.
Just when you put the AF / MF switch on the body, or on the lens to M. the lens hast to be focused by hand.

Sleep function deactivation

Looking through the menus of your camera, it seems you can't change the setting for sleep. The camera must protect you for draining your battery, when you are walking outside. In page 113 of the manual, it only shows the setting can be added to the Myset menu, not if or how you could switch it of or extend / shorten the time before the camera shuts off.

I have a canon 1d mark II and when i use my 50mm F/1.4 the camera will not allow me to go below f/2.8

I assume you tried in all modes? All I can think of is P.Fn 5 which allows you to limit the range of available apertures for all exposure modes..Check That program function. Probably not noticed before as you haven't has such a bright lens on before (I assume!)

How to set self timer?

Hi.

1. On the outside of the cameraPress the 'function set' button marked chas6_15.jpg.

2. Use the 'up'/'down' buttons to select 'Drive Mode' chas6_13.jpg in the display.

3. Use 'left' / 'right' buttons to change the self-timer mode.

4. Choose the timer delay or select chas6_14.jpg, after which pressing the 'Disp.' button will allow you to set the delay and number of shots.

5. Press the 'function set' button again to start the timer.

Hope this helps!

Please make sure your memory card does not have the "Lock" setting clicked on. It is a small slider at the side of the card. Check this out and try to save again to your card.

Canon 450d Auto focus has stopped working in Live view mode

Check if the customer function III was not disabled by accident - set it to 2 (live mode) for best results. Also, autofocus in liveview mode is activated by the * (star) button (upper right corner of the back of the camera body), not the shutter release button.

Manual exposure trouble in studio

exposure compensation can be dialed through the '+' and '-' keys in the upper right hand side of the camera body. The shutter speed should alone take care of the exposure meter if the aperture is more or less good...

ps: sometimes when we increase the shutter speed to 1/2000 th of a sec..it takes a while to reach the zero mark in the exposure bar since you need to dial more to reach an acceptable shutter speed like say 1/10th ...or 1"...

Gaurav
