Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

1 Answer

Some gmes won't play.

My lousy ISP keep dropping off, sorry. PS3 40 MB purchased in Korea. As I said previously out of the 3 games recently purchased in Australia one of them will play - Transformers. The other 2, Spiderman 3 and Grand Tourismo 5 Prologue give the message "you cnnot play thid game at the current video output settings (80028F10). All are PAL, 720p/1080i/1080p except Spiderman which is only 720p. I thought the PAL was a problem but since Transformers plays OK I don't think it's the problem. Spiderman sound plays when previewed on the T-bar menu. I tried your suggested method of resetting the video to default but it didn't help. What should I try now?

Thanks for the information. I don't know about exchanging the games. I can run them on my HD monitor. I just have to figure out how to get the sound going. Your explanation is appreciated and certainly explains the situation. Again, thanks for the info.

Ok. Do you have a NTSC system?

Some PAL games will only run on standard and some will only run in HD and some will run on both if the PS3 is NTSC. The PAL games output at (576i/p) while the NTSC outputs at (480i/p). So honestly, I think that is your problem. You have a NTSC system and PAL games. If you do not have a HDTV then you will need to exchange those games for the NTSC version. Sorry for the bad news. It's not Sony's fault, it's how the game developers coded the games.
I hope this helps. Good luck to you.

Ps3 keeps saying not enough memory for grand theft auto 5

This means that you only have 3031 mb of memory left, but the game requires that you have 8000 mb, you can get more by deleting games downloaded that you don't play anymore, delete a few and try again.

Well i bought a game called 2k8 basketball here in philippines, but i bought my xbox on australia, then i tryed my game and it said, ( The disc's region code is incorrect for this consol ) so how can i...

Sorry you can't fix it. Most games are Region specific meaning that they are playable only on Xbox 360 systems from the specific region that you have. If you bought your Xbox 360 in Australia then it is likely PAL system and can only play Pal games.

"Determine whether the game disc is from the same region as the region where you purchased the Xbox console. To determine the region, view the back of the game package. Look for one of the following codes:

* NTSC: North America and South America (United States, Canada, Mexico, Chile, and Brazil)
* NTSC-J: Asia (Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan)
* PAL: Europe, South Africa, India, Australia, and New Zealand"

If the game you have doesn't match with your Xbox 360 Region then you won't be able to play it. (but a few games are playable on multiple regions, check list below)

Check out this site prior to buying games to help identify which games that aren't PAL might be still playable on your system.: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-00-3-xbox360_compatibility_guide-49-en-84-t.html

Notice that NBA 2K8 US version is not compatible with PAL system. If you had bought the US version of NBA 2K9 then it would have worked.

There isnt a problem with your ps3. Its A problem with THE PS3 Network. you will need to keept resetting your internet connection until your ip address changes. this means resetting your router and disconnecting the internet from the ps3 and re connecting it. Its been happening all over the world. This prevents you from playing certain games also.
