Depending on the model number...sony had a bad run of amps that would exhibit the problem you are having...the fix was that it had a grounding issue with the various circuits within...there is a method we used to repair these sets where we would "bond" all of the grounding connections on the pc board with lengths of wire to one main grounding point...another possibility is that there are cold solder connections that are causing the unit to shut down. A cold solder connection may have conductivity when the unit is off, but when the unit heats up then the connection is lost resulting in shut down....I would recommend taking the set to your nearest service shop and get an estimate

Pioneer A-509R amplifier: whenever I try to use it, the standby function cuts in and I cannot turn standby off. Your advice would be much appreciated! Thanks! [email protected]

It is possible that your amplifier is cutting off the power due to a protection in the system. The output or power circuit could have a fault that trips off the protection circuit to worrk. now this is ttricky and might need a lot of power board electronics experience as the fault needs to be traced . You can disconnect the poweer drivers and see if the poweer come on. If so the drivers must be chacked for short and replaced. Check also the speakers for any short and disconnect and check. hope you try. Good day

Lenovo 3000 c200 battery light flashes and then turns off. Computer will power on and then cut off after a minute. Seems like battery is not charging.

try to perform powerdrain to your system. inorder to do this, your computer should be turned off. take out the battery and unplug the power adapter. press and hold the power button for 30secs. put the battery/adapter back in. power on the computer and observed if you will be getting the same issue.

My pioneer 600w amplifier cuts at high volume...

Are you sure it's not a problem with your head unit? When you mean cut off do you mean the whole amp loses power or power lights stay on but sound just cuts out? If you don't know have a friend turn up your radio if you don't have a remote and whatch the light, power light on the amp. If it goes out then it sounds like a bad ground or the main power wire is'nt large enough to supply proper power to amp. I would check those that I have described first because thats what it sounds like, bad ground or power wire not sending proper voltage. When you turn up the volume your amp needs more power well when you get to a point when you turn it up and amp cuts out or off then it's starving for power or bad ground. Let me know what you find. Also if this helps please rate my help so I can get out of this apprentice status. I have 15 years exp. and 2 degrees in electronics and my business is buying nonworking amps and repairing them then resale them. Thanks

Sound cuts when volume is turned up

check that power amplifier rating(how many watt)must be more than total speaker rating by 20% at least..
exampel:if speakers watts are 100 watt-amplifier watt must be 120 watt.

Sony Xplod XM-1652Z Car Audio Amplifier cuts out when turned up loud

The best thing to do is to get a amp that is more watts than your subs, not the other way around, speakers are known to handel a lil more power but amps cant produce more power than they are capable of... your ground wire should be thick also, say 6 to 8 mm or so, and its best to put in a cap and an equalizer.
Cheers

Crate BT50 Bass amp cutting out with high input.

Sometimes an amplifier's preamp can't handle certain signals/frequencies at a high gain, so they cut out. Bass guitars are especially prone to giving such a strong signal.
I bought an older, nonworking bass amp recently and fixed it just to find it had the same problem. Best solution is to put a low ohm resistor at the amps input, but if you turn your guitar down to half volume it'll have the same effect: should prevent it from cutting out.
