Out of balance drum WM2277HW?

My wife and I have had our LG front loader w/d for about 2 years now. We have had a huge problem with the washing machine vibrating the heck out of the floor and making a bunch of racket. I just installed some anti-vibration pads which has quieted the racket quite a bit. However, in high spin mode it is still making alot of noise and is vibrating quite a bit. We moved 5 months ago and I do not think the movers secured the drum. Could the drum be out of balance? How can I fix this?!?! Thanks!

Thanks, Mark. I made sure it was level when I placed it on the anti-vibration pads. It does not rock on the pads. It seems the drum is out of balance and that gets it shaking.

We have the same problem with a HEC 1050W front loader. My first step in to check machine is balanced on the feet.

The machine must be set up level. otherewise it will vibrate badly. Slide the machine away from where it stand, and using a long spirit level ( mine is 24 inches) findout which of the four feet is highest.. Screw in that foot fully. The measuring carefully ascertain the difference in level of the other feet. Adjust the feet accordingly and move the machine back in place. Verify that the machine now stands level and that the floor is solid.

More than likely it did not get reinstalled right after the move. All four of the leveling legs must be firmly touching the floor. If one is even the thickness of a piece of paper off the floor it will start to rock during spin and the problem just amplifies itself. Make sure it's perfectly level and that all the feet are firmly on the floor.

This machine needs a solid floor to stand on. Any movement on the floor starts a vicious runaway cycle of vibration which is not only very irritating, but it is no good for the machine itself.
Your machine is 2 years old, so I doubt that it could be the shock absorbers giving trouble.

We had the same issue with our Whirlpool and LG front loader washer. Here is how we had to solve the problem.

The floor was vibrating so much did the spin cycle, so I call a freind of mine over that is contruction engineer. He suggesting putting 2x10 blocks between the floor joist in a ten foot section. Retested, this reduced the the amount a vibration, then we screwed a sheet of ¾" Plywood on the bottom side of the joist. This cured the vibration. If you read the installation instructions, they only talk about installing the front loader washers on solid surfaces (concrete) to avoid vibration.

I hope this helps.

During spindrying the WFT9230TP shakes violently although the feet are all pressing tightly against the floor.

The clothes must be balanced inside the drum in order to stop the violent shaking. Unlike a front loader, the top loaders must be balanced before starting the load.

If you need more assistance, let me know.

Yes, it can be used, but the fastening system for pedistal to washer is much better with the new pedistals.

My lg frontloader will not drain. I read the comment, but how do I get to the impeler?

I just got through replacing this and found the service manual at http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/content/pdfs/125459.pdf (it applies to several LG wasers, but this was a huge help to me to step by step get to the pump motor). Also, there are two identical motors (with impellers) on the WM2277HW, one pumps the dirty water out, the other recirculates the water back into the drum to help mix the "cycle water" with the appropriate liquid (after it is dispensed). Hope this helps

BRand new installation of 1 year old machine we

hi,

I am a novice at front loaders but it sounds like it needs new suspension parts, namely springs, sounds like the machine had a hard life before you got it. since its used anyways it cant hurt to take the back off and see and study how it works and how the drums suspension works. you can try to find the springs at an appliance store. Im not sure if you can get springs directly from LG. LG's are a pretty good name brand, probably worth fixing..
good luck!

LG wm2277hw front load shakes violently

Barry The repairman was right. The drum is out of balance because of the load amount .Thed clothes or items need to be distributed around the drom rather than just throwing in. When it comes to spin the imbalance causes the machine to shake and move across the laudry.

As it sometimes works This is probably when you are not doing a heavy load of washing, so it appears to work OK.
Pack it with less, also adjust the front legs a full turn higher than the rear so prevent walking when it spins. If you cant find the spanner that was included , just use an adjustable one.

I have a lg wm2277hw agitator problem

I had this happen on mine, and it was the valve that dispenses the water into the drum. I wasn't getting any water into the drum because the dispensing valve/solenoid was not working. I've had to replace it 3 times in the past 5 years though.

Loud squeaky Noise

this is not 100% diagnosis as can't listen to noise but fault may be bearing lip seal disintegrating which is a serious fault and if im right then bearing will shortly go as well. reason it is noisy during start is that seal is dry and gets wet when full of water
