A system restore should get rid of the problem. If it doesnt get rid of the problem from the system settings in tools then do it from safe mode.

SAFE MODE:

1. Place you finger on the on/off sensor leave it their until you console turns off then take you finger off the sensor.

2. Place your finger back on the on/off sensor leave it their until you hear 2 consecutive beeps then take your finger off.

3. Once the safe mode screen comes on select the option PS3 SYSTEM RESTORE.

NOTE: A PS3 system restore will delete all data except the OS. I recommend backing up your console onto a USB flash drive if possible.

Good Luck!

I have a corrupted data file on the saved data utility. How can I get rid of it?

If you are getting the corrupted hard drive message and the Playstation 3's repair does not repair the drive then you may need to format the drive with a computer. The link below will help you do this. Note if you still have trouble with the drive then you may need to replace the drive as it is having hardware problems.

Our memory card has corrupt data how do we get rid of it.

There are a lot of reasons data on a ps2 memory card can get corrupted. There is no way to completely get rid of them, but they barely take up any room on the card itself. The only risk is that there is a hightened chance that anything else you put on there could be corrupted at some point.

Corrupted Data on PS2 memory card

I don't know if you have been trying to delete the data with a game inside the ps2, but in case you have, try this.

Turn on the system WITHOUT a game inside, select BROWSER, the MEMORY CARD ICON, and i believe the corrupted data icon is a grayish black square. Choose options and then delete.
I am also heard that inserting a music cd will work as well, probably just has to not be a game inside the ps2.

Corrupted data comes from turning off the ps2, or removing the memory card while the game loads or saves data to/from memory card.
I really hope that helps, ps2's are meant to be played! Good luck.
