Automatic flas will not pop up on a Canon 30d Digital camera

- I have tried to adjust the settings but it still does not work. Normally, when I set the camera on "Time Value,shutterspeed setting", I can push the flash button and it will pop up. I cannot get the button to make the flash pop up. I see the Flash indicator in the viewfinder but no flash when I take the picture.

have you tried adjusting the setting on the camera? or is it a physical problem

-   Suddenly my canon 30D flash will not pop up as well. I've tried each and every setting combo but it still wont work. The camera itself woorks but not the internal flash.
