Can't control volumn or mute button

The mute button is noting more than an on/off switch that electronically disconnects or blocks the sound signal temporarily. If both the Mute and Volume controls won't function then you have a power amp dysfunction to the speakers. Go to Tiger Direct on the internet and get a replacement system from the refurbished section at a good price.

Have a BA TVee 25 Soundbar. Only able to program Volume Up on my remote. Cannot program Volume Down or Mute. Nothing happens except to turn the Soundbar off and on. Don't tell me to follow...

I had this same problem and it was due to their instructions which do not adequately explain the setup procedure.

On my own, I was successful in programming volume up but that was all. I assumed that for volume down I would hold the power button and the VOLUME DOWN button and wait for the flashing light just as I had for volume up. Problem is, you never get a flashing light.

Today, I spoke with a rep from Boston Acoustics who patiently explained that step one of the instructions has to be done the same way each time as it is the step that puts the soundbar into programming mode.

It is only at step 2 that things change.

The solution is to hold the power button and the Volume Up button every time in order to get the system into programming mode. Once the light is flashing, in order to program Volume Down, you then hold the Volume Down button until the light goes solid. Once the light goes solid, then press the volume down button on your remote 4 times slowly. Works like a charm.

Works the same way to program the mute button. Follow step one to get the unit in programming mode. Once the light is flashing, hold down only the mute button until the light goes solid. When the light goes solid, press the mute button slowly 4 times.

OBTW, this was programmed with a Logitech Harmony 650 remote unit.

I just got the Logitech Lapdesk N700. It works but the speakers sound awful. They crack and pop and sound real distorted. I am running a Windows 7 Ultimate.

click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to cd/dvd rom drives right click properties then properties again then tick enable cd digital cd audio for this cd rom device or scroll to dvd regions select the no _ for your specific area
you might need to select stereo speakers
click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers make sure you have selected the
(((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there also if you have the right ones selected
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the CPU central processing unit and your sound card dust causes static to build up in a computer causing it to overheat any many other problems
hope this helps

I just got my logitech N700. Every time I try to plug the usb cable into my computer, however, my computer shuts down. I tried injecting other things - my flash drive, my external hardrive, and my old fan...

Try shutting down your computer before you plug in your USB. As you may have a surge problem. Then plug in your N700, if this doesnt work You may have to goto PC world or your local PC dealer and ask them. Hope this helps.

IM PLus # 3500 Series Mic works one day but not the next. Video is fine, but mic isn't. I've looked at all the settings but the mic doesn't pick up my voice.

Several possibilities:

1. You may have inadvertently muted your microphone.

2. You may have multiple devices identified as the microphone, so that might be causing a conflict.

Multiple ways these might be fixed:
1. If you have a media-controller keyboard, look for a mute / unmute button there to see if that helps.

2. Alternately, open the Control Panel and open up the Sounds category. Navigate to the Recording tab and ensure you have identified the proper device.

3. Ensure your volume control utility for Recording has not checked Mute on the microphone.

Guessing you are using Microsoft product. Open the Control Panel
