The
Canon G9 has a design defect, two screws fall out inside the camera and
short out the fuse. If you've never had it fixed for no power before
this is most likely what has happened to your camera.

I advice you to replace the battery with brand new one . I think that the battery is dead . A dead battery may appear recharging but it could be fake display .
