Is there an spdif plug on this tv, if so where is it

can't find that eq 5888 model number but does the tv have a connection labelled as spdif this is a special digital audio out standard by phillips.

I am not sure if this can be plugged into the sb 2920x-c6 digital in socket or if you need a digital amplifier between the two items ?
Someone else on fixya may know if a digital amplifier is needed or a direct connection from tv to sound bar is possible via a spdif cable.

Really depends on what you're switching. If you plan on using a DVD, Cable/Satellite receiver, or more than you'll want to plug all those sources into the HDMI inputs of the TV. From the TV you'll want to run an SPdiF cable to the back of the sound bar. These cables can be had for less than $6 on Amazon unless you have one already. This is the simplest and cleanest way to use the soundbar as the TV's speakers. Go to MENU on the TV and select AUDIO and then turn off the TV's speakers. This will enable the SPdiF output to the soundbar.

This is an older home theater package and only has component video out for HD and RCA or SPDIF optical out for audio. You'll need to locate the component video input on the back of your flat panel and connect it to the component output of the Phillips unit. Component cables have 3 RCA cable (Red, Blue, Green) for HD. You can use a RED/WHITE RCA cable for audio but if you have a SPDIF Optical cable you should use that for better sound. The TV should have that as an input also. You will need to go into the Menu for the TV and select component video and SPDIF optical if you went that route for audio.

You'll need some sort of audio cable to connect the TV's sound or audio output to the soundbar. RX-V365 doesn't support HDMI audio. You need to connect the cable box also via spdif cable for audio to work. Look at the box if it uses optical spdif or coax spdif. If optical, you see that optical input on receiver is named DTV/CATV, so use also DTV HDMI for video. Coax spdif is named DVD, so in this case you will need to use DVD HDMI input.
Also you need to configure the inputs accordingly.

u need a 2or 3 pin spdif cable from the spdif on ur gpu to the spdif on ur mobo/soundcard. check manuals of ur gpu and mobo/soundcard for correct pin diagrams. dvi wont carry audio even if using HDMI adaptor, u need to ling the gpu to soundcard/mobo depending on what u use for sound.good luck
