Recently went walking in North Wales in horrendous weather conditions and unfortunately my DMC-TZ5 got a little bit damp !!!! I've since tried drying it out by sealing in a plastic bag with two large bags of silica gel for a week and there is no longer any condensation showing behind the screen. Unfortunately it still refuses to turn back on. Shall I consider it forever dead or is there a possible simple fix? Tim

Without flash the DMC TZ5 still does well. The photo has a good level
of detail. It also has a natural look to it. Once again there is that
bit more colour in the shot than I am used to seeing.
The way Panasonic manage the ISO settings is a little different to
other brands. With the DMC TZ5 you set the maximum ISO rating you wish
to use and then the camera is intelligent to work out the actual
setting. This tends to produce better results than with other brands in
most situations.
Hi! It sounds like the focus is stuck. Could be sand, dirt or something like that. I repaired a TZ5 with this problem a couple of days ago. You should contact your local Panasonic service center or other local camera service center. This is a hardware problem, not software, so I'm afraid changing setting and stuff like that won't help.

Camera may not be completely dry if you are still in a moist rich environment. If you have access, try using a blow dryer. (ON LOW SETTING as to not melt anything!)
