Question about HP Compaq Presario V6000T Notebook
Yesterday the computer would not turn on. No lights. Today it turns on but only the left half of the keyboard works.
Try reseting the BIOS to its defaults by following the instructions below :
Start or restart the Notebook and start tapping the F10 key immideatly you see the HP logo.
Now, in this press the F9 key to load the BIOS Default settings.
Press the F10 key to save the settings and exit the BIOS setup window.
Additionally, check by connecting any USB Keyboard to the Notebook if available.
Additionally, find the Product Number of the Notebook which is indicated with P/N printed on a white sticker pasted at the bottom of the notebook.
Open HP.com and enter this in the search field at the top right column.
Click on Software & Driver downloads and select the Operating System in the Notebook which should be Vista.
Scroll down to find BIOS under which you will find the BIOS Updates available for your Notebook.
Download and save the latest BIOS Update available.
Close all the windows and applications and double click on the file to update the BIOS.
Donot attempt to access any application or turn it off or restart when the BIOS is being updated as this will damage the BIOS Chip and make the Notebook useless.
The Notebook will restart automatically after the BIOS is Updated.
Hope this helps...
