Unless the water is constantly flowing then the water is coming from the freezer when is defrosts. the drain line is in the back wall of the freezer and may be clogged up with ice. clean out the freezer and pour some hot water in the very back of the freezer, this will hopefully unclog the drain. if not, then you have to take the back wall out of the freezer to get directly to the drain line. there should just be a couple screws holding it; it is just an aluminum or plastic panel.

  • if you already checked this and think it is a different problem then let me know, i will help you figure it out.

do you know if it is a whirlpool made model, 27ft french door, ice maker in ceiling, they had issues with a seal between ice compartment and ref side- leaks freezing air to water tank area, freezing tank. other wise if its not the filter -then water flow to unit. ck where it connects to ref, if good( should have steady stream with press. replace ref valve if bad look at your valve in wall or at sink.

SXD26VW WILL RUN AND FREEZER WILL GO TO TEN DEGREES AND REF GOES TO 35. WITHOUT OPENINING DOORS BUT TO CHECK TEMP IS 40 DEG AND REF 55 IN A MATTER OF A HOUR

Listen for fan noise under the cabinet; the fan responsible for circulating air past the coils may have failed. You should also be able to detect a flow of warm air coming from the vent near the floor.
If you have air flow there, the system may need recharged with coolant. If it has ever been moved, the system may have gotten a leak during transport. This will require a service tech.

Water pooling & freezing in the bottom of a kenmore model 795.75252400 freezer compartment

The problem is the water drain tube in the freezer is clogged. As the evaperator goes into deicing mode the water from the evaperator is not going down the drain tube. Instead it's over flowing those two air ducts to the refridgerator and causing your water problem. But it's not as simple as simply clearing the clogged drain tube. You need to install a heating element inside the drain tube to keep it from freezing during the deiceing process.

SMALL OUTDOOR BEER REFRIGERATOR DOOR LEFT OPEN OVERNIGHT IT STARTED DEFROSOTNG AND THEN ACTED LIKE IT BULIT UP PRESSURE AND BLEW OUT AIR OR REFRIGERANT AND DOES NOT COOL ANYMORE

Hi, absolutely there's refrigerant (freon) leak check your condenser and evap. for rupture (broken lines) also check for oil, presence of oil means, refrigerant (freon) leak, plug ref, and listen, for hissing sound inside and outside of ref. try to locate leak, or call mechanic, repair leak, change filter drier and recharge, if your evap punctured, you should immediately disconnect ref, and dry all water from evap, prevent water from entering system, could damage compressor, or if water get into compressor, you will have to change compressor oil. yes, you surely have a refrigerant (freon) leak.good luck.

Water leak @ bottom front left with water turned off

this quite simple, inside the freezer compartment lower half there is a removable inspection cover, or what you may call the rear interior wall. remove this cover/wall and underneath the cooling coils is a drain hole for the defrosted water to escape to the pan located under the refrig. This hole is obviously blocked with some object, possibly just ice. As it is blocked the defrosted ice in the form of water cant exit the normal way so it is over flowing onto the freezer floor. everytime the defost element comes on more water will leak. solution is to clear the drain hose possible with hair dryer , or gently running a firm but flexible plastic tube through the drain tube to push any blockage on through. This has to be done very slowly and carefully.

GE REf. model GSS22JETAWW--Defrost problem. Have changed board-heater-and bi-metal. Still frosts up in 4 days.

Frosting up in four days! If the entire evaporator is frosting up (blocking air flow) in only four days, you have an air leak. Door not closing, bad door gasket, something like that.

Refrigerator compartment cools correctly for a few days then no longer receives cold air from freezer. The freezer continues to operate and gets much colder than it should.

does your fan blow? freezers have a fan that pushes cold air to the fridge side if fan is bad freezer will run extremely cold and fridge won't cool down and since frige won't cool down thermostat in fridge doesn't tell compressor to stop

Puddles of water in Fridge

you may want to check your door seal, air leaking thru the door seal causes condesation, also make sure that the drain tube is clear under the defrost element in your freezer.

Whirlpool fridge getting water from upper freezer compartment

well if you hat the freezer on top normaly air leaks inside freezer through the drain tube, that air turns into condensation and creates a ice and cloges your drain. now water can drain down to pan everytime ref goes into defrost , and water leaks to bottom section to air ducts and air returns. there are several ways to solve this problem the cheapeste way is to unplug refrigerator for 2 days then plug back up and it should go back to normal another way is to install a heat probe on your drain attached to your defrost heater , and add a grommet on drain tube that will let water drain but it will keep air out and that will solve your problem.
