Poulan pro pp4620 avx chain saw won't start

Chain saw ran fine for over 35 hours of use, then abruptly at half tank chain saw seemed sluggish at which point only 10 minutes later it chugged then died. Attempted restart three times, first time it caught, ran 15 seconds, and died, second time it just caught without starting. now it doesnt even catch. cleaned air filter but has no effect. Gas/oil ratio am pretty sure is correct. other than that i have no idea whats going on. do you have any ideas?

Thanks!

Dunno if it was castletowery's suggestion or the action I took additionally. However, after adjusting the carburation AND changing the spark plug it runs just fine. Spark plug however, was definitely part of the problem as it was a bit dirty so would have had to be changed anyway. Thanks to Castletowery for his input.

Poulan PP4218 avx; tube (line) inside gas tank connecting filter has rotted and need to replace. Is there a tool used to push line onto "nipple" inside tank.

cheapest way is a new fuel tank from e-bay that has it all installed
you can remove the rubber grommet around the lines to get it out then get a new filter to push on the line BUT will it be cost effective against what can be obtained from e-bay

I have a Poulan Pro PP4620 AVX 46cc Gas Chainsaw w/20

If this is the tooless adjustment, it sounds like the small gears in the cover have stripped, remove the side cover, turn it over and remove the cover over the tentioning mechanism, replace parts as required.

My Poulan Pro chain saw (model # PP4620 AVHD) doesot move B&C oil from the oil reservoir to the chain. How can I repair this?

If the ports where the oil comes out aren't clogged, you will have to order a oil pump and then take apart the saw from right underneath the bar. The oil pump is run by a worm gear that strips easily.

is the area where you tighten up the chain clean there are a few holes in the bar that allow the oil to drip on to the chain if its been used for a while the holes could be clogged take off the bar and chain and clean with a small flat head screwdriver the groove that the chain rides in there should be a hole that goes all the way through make sure you wipe away any wood chipsthen run it and see if it throws out any oil

Check to see if you have the chain oriented correctly - it is east to put them on backward without realizing it. Th3e teeth should point forward, with the anti - kickback lug in front of the tooth. Let me know if this helps!!

Bar oil leaks into storage case when chainsaw not in use???? Poulan Prow, PP4620 AVX 46 cc

The easy fix is to drain the oil tank when not in use. Many saws will leak some oil initially, but should not continue to do so. If it is making a large puddle, oil is getting past the oil pump which may be worn from long use. Make sure the tank vent is not plugged as heat from the engine can increase pressure in the tank thus forcing oil out. Hope this helps!

We need the make, model, and serial numbers from the manufacturer’s tag to help you farther.

I think your rivits are roll pins but without clarification cannot verify that.

I would like the fuel mixture for my poulan chain saw. %oil,%fuel

If you don't know the model, then go with a 35:1 or 40:1 ratio. 40:1 seems common on most smaller saws from Ryobi and Poulan is a relation to those. The 35:1 suggestion is just for a little buffer in case. Generally it is ok to run a richer oil mix. It just means you may have to change spark plugs more often, however, your combustion chambers will be better lubricated and probably last longer!

Sometimes there is a little sticker or marking on the fuel tank cap or somewhere near it that indicates advisable oil:fuel ratio... Have a close look, it may be indicated somewhere on the saw itself.

2375 ''wild thing'' poulan saw hard starting after carb rebuild

Through trial and error on fairly new Poulin Pro, found that the usual 3-half turns for both high and low was too much (flooded) (Used to be good starting point on weed eaters years ago. So, turned both all the way in, and only backed out 1-full turn. (2-halves) Saw fired up perfectly, and ran wide open just fine. Try that.
