Poulan pro pp4620 avx chain saw won't start

Chain saw ran fine for over 35 hours of use, then abruptly at half tank chain saw seemed sluggish at which point only 10 minutes later it chugged then died. Attempted restart three times, first time it caught, ran 15 seconds, and died, second time it just caught without starting. now it doesnt even catch. cleaned air filter but has no effect. Gas/oil ratio am pretty sure is correct. other than that i have no idea whats going on. do you have any ideas?

Thanks!

Dunno if it was castletowery's suggestion or the action I took additionally. However, after adjusting the carburation AND changing the spark plug it runs just fine. Spark plug however, was definitely part of the problem as it was a bit dirty so would have had to be changed anyway. Thanks to Castletowery for his input.

Wen 5500 got from guy had for backup to home. He had 8 years only ran @ 8 hrs started regularly. It will run smooth with like battery chargers, with saw backfires and stalls. Carb clean n valves good.

the low oil level control unit can malfunction causing problems similar to this . Test by bypassing the unit
have it checked out
next-- in the tap that is screwed into the tank there is a very fine filter that may be blocked
taps are made of diecast metal and over a period of time will corrode internally and restrict fuel flow
just some points to check out

When you pull the bowl off of your carb is it clean? If not you have some contamination possibly inside. You might want to remove the carb and blow compressed air through all the vents a ports.

I don't know where you can get a service manual. You've described the symptoms of a dirty clogged fuel filter down inside the fuel tank at the end of the fuel pickup.
