SOURCE: Kenwood VR-209 Receiver doesnt stay on

The power transformer is bad. Part # L07-2485-05 it costs about $ 85 bucks to replace it. It is the big one.

Protect Mode is displayed

It usually means something is drawing too much current---a short inside the unit----idea is to prevent a chain reaction that frys half the unit.

Consider having a shop look at it and do check to make sure all the connections are correct.

I have a Kenwood Receiver VR-6050 that recently stopped working. The system powers on and I can select any input but there is no sound. Is it the transformer?

The transformer is not the problem if the display is working. Your problem would point to a problem with the output transistors that supply the power to your speakers.

The sound has stopped working on my receiver. It powers on but the sound is very faint even when turned all the way up.

This is a problem with the output transistors that power your speakers. This is a problem for a professional unfortunately.

There are many different "listening modes" integrated on my Kenwood VR-7070 6.1 channel receiver. But i only get both front speakers to work when in "mono" mode. Is there an easy fix?

There is not a "fix" for this selection, MONO is basically a single channel output so there is no seperation for various speakers like left or right which is a stereo effect, mono is like a single speaker sound so you are fortunate to have the sound from 2 speakers but they deliver the same sound.

No sound from front right and left speakers

you may have a dc condition present on speaker outputs. this could be caused by dry solder joints, suggest blanket resolder of the output stages for front channels.
