We loaded our first DVD and it will not play nor can we get it out of the reader. We have hit the eject button on the front of the TV and the button on the side and the remote and nothing works. I can see a blue light in the DVD reader but it basically does nothing..

I had the same problem and was irritated and even emailed Westinghouse. I unplugged the TV and turned it back on and held the eject button and it worked. I am not sure this will work for everyone or if it was luck. It was stuck for 2 days.

Why is there an error message: Space Not Enough when trying to copy DVD?

There is some space reserved for dvd information, error information etc. So solution is make the file archive by right click on file ->proprties-> click archive. After that use winrar and compress. http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

When I first got it both blu ray and DVD worked now it only plays some some disks. It will say error check disk and then the movie comes out.

This is listed under a Flat Panel TV problem solution request so am I right in assuming you suspect the TV?
If so...you should first disconnect your Bluray Player and try it on any other TV with AV inputs to see if it soes the same thing. If it does then read on.
I suggest you could try two things. First is to wash the DVD in warm soapy water using a clean soft cloth and rinse it clean and dry it with a lint free cotton teatowel. Then do a visual check of it after drying it. Make sure it is blemish free and has no foreign matter deposits on its surface. You can use a SMALL drop of Methylated Spirit on the cloth to remove tough deposits... But do not use it on the Label side of the disk. Once it is pristine clean. Try it in the player again.
If still no luck, purchase a CD cleaning kit which has a bottle of cleaner fluid with it and follow the instructions carefully to clean the laser lens in your disc player.
As you can play some disks only, the above seems a likely solution.
Note that if you have non-original cd's
/dvd's many of them are of dubious integrity and may not play properly......so discard them.

Hello, I have a Magnavox DVD Recorder mwr10d6. I want to burn some movies to play in it. What format of CD's do I need and does it matter if it's avi, mpg, mov, mp4 or not. What are these anyway? Thanks!

avi, mpg, mov, mp4, these are all video files. you can use almost any cd-r band. dvd movies require use of dvd-r disks. some dvd-r disks are not playable in all players.

Using windows dvd maker vista with sp1 starts to burn then at about 98% get error message and stops the burn. also when i try to format a dvd disc ready to burn that wont work and the dvd drive d is...

two things. Firsly make sure that you are using the correct disks i.e if your drive is dvd-r then only use dvd-r disks, if its dvd+r then only use dvd+r disks if it is a multi drive then it won't matter what disks you use. Secondly don't format the disk first. If it asks you to format the disk click on the X to shut the pop up box. Only put the disk in when dvd maker asks for you to insert a disk.

Cannot start dubbing

I'd guess you are using cable TV-some cable companies put their own copyguard on the cable signal, Comcast, in my area does this. The DVD sees the 'do not copy signal' and won't do it.
Try recording directly to DVD without using the HDD drive. If you get a playable disk, I doubt it is your machine. If you don't get a playable disk, that plays in THAT machine-it is the machine..
