My portable DVD player does not seem to be working properly. Firstly the green power light does not go on, but when plugged in the screen switches on, but there are coloured lines going all teh way across and the CD or DVD does not spin, so there is no activity. Can it be repaired? I have hardly used it but the warranty ran out.

Most of these players have a "charge" switch location on the three position power switch (Charge... Standby... On). If not, just set it to off. The unit normally flashes the green light when it is checking the batter condition, solid green when it is charging and the green led goes off when charged.

The only "kill switch" I am aware of is the switch on the DVD compartment door. I don't have your exact model but, on my model, this switch is activated when the door covering the DVD is closed and deactivated when this door is opened (kills the DVD spin and reading laser). Look for a small square hole in the DVD player deck and a corresponding raised piece of plastic on the DVD door.

If the DVD is connected to the TV properly using the yellow, white & red AV cable and the TV is switched to AV and there is still no picture, plug the yellow lead from the back of the DVD player into the green socket. If you see a black and white picture now the DVD output is on Progressive Scan mode. See user manual to turn off Progressive Scan mode.

1 st Check and see if you have power coming out the power plug.
2nd. Ckeck and see if the fuse is ok in the unit.
3rd Check and see if your cig ligter works in your power outlet.

I had the same issue and could have kicked myself in the ***! Make sure the AV slide switch is in the out position or it will not play at all. As soon as you switch from IN to OUT it will work properly.

The blinking went away as I had charged it for a very long time. However, it was noted that it would not work on the DVD. The battery needs to be replaced. That solved my problem. I still have to look for a new battery for this device: US Logic 680p DVD player with recharging capabilities due to the portability option. It works fine if plugged in, but the battery just needs to be replaced if I want to use it independent of the plug. Thanks for asking how I resolved the issue.

My son's Magnavox Portable DVD does not seem to be functioning properly....It won't turn on, and when I plug it in, as if I was going to charge it, it blinks orange then green. So, it seems like there is a problem with it. Anyone experience the same problem?

Looks like the power board in the device is defective. Best suggestion (and cheaper option) would be to simply buy a new portable..

You seem to be missing the Screen Power/Audio/Video Connector cords. The green colored player is the main one and the other will feed off it however with the two lighter adapters they will work seperately. Currently my wife and I have one in her car and the other in mine unfortuantly once the car is shut off the dvd player resarts from the begining a minor inconvience but the picture quality is not bad.
