There is a switch somewhere below and on the freearm....depending on the model, it may be front, rear

(or inside the front door if a front loading bobbin machine)

.........flick the switch left or right to raise/lower,

(up or down if front loader)

.......just remember the handwheel needs to rotate one full revolution to re-engage raised feeddogs after being dropped.

If you still have trouble, post back with details of the model......

NOTE: some lesser models do have a legacy moulding where the switch would be, but do not have the actual function.

Janome 3050 feed dogs wont come back up

Dropping the Feed Dog
The feed dog can be lowered with the drop-feed lever for sewing on buttons etc.
  • Shift the drop-feed lever to the right to lower the feed dog.
  • Shift the lever to the left to raise the feed dog, it will return to the up position when the machine is started.

NOTE:The feed dog should be in the up position for regular sewing. Turn the handwheel toward you to check if the feed dog comes up after setting the lever in the up position

Where do I lower the feed dogs on the Viking Iris machine so I can machine quilt?

Check the user manual, page 15. You can view, download, or print the manual from the viking website -
http://www.manuals.husqvarnaviking.com
There is a dial on the bottom of the free arm in the middle. The dial should be turned to left to drop feed dogs and to right to raise feed dogs.

Lowering feed dog on singer 9410

You can't lower the feed dog on a Singer 9410. You can put a feed cover over the feed. I don't see a Singer part number for the cover. It is part of the complete attachment set that came with the machine. (The attachment set is part number 313030.) The manual for the machine is available online here: http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/440_5_8_10_16_22_dial.pdf .

However the zig zag plate is 312777 and a feed cover that is compatible with the 312777 plate is 313117. It is available here: http://sewingmachine221sale.bizland.com/store/page69.html or http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/cover-plate-singer-313117.aspx . However, neither of these sites lists the cover as known compatible with the 9410.

I hope this helps.

I can not remember how to lower the feed dogs on my Husqvarna quilt designer and I can not find my manual

I think the Quilt Des. is the same as the Designer 1 (which is what I have) and the lower feed dogs is a serrated dial (looks like part of a circle sticking out of the machine) located on the lower front of the free arm about 2 inches to the right of in line with the needle. You turn the dial towards the left to lower the feed dogs and to the right to raise them.

Bernina 1130 feed dogs won't feed fabric

On a Bernina 1130 the power on-off knob and the feed dog raise and lower knob look similar and are next to each other on the end of the machine, making it easy to lower the dog assembly entirely, without realizing it. Make sure you didn't accidentally lower the entire feed dog assembly by turning the feed dog knob: you can tell as you turn it if the dogs are up or down. On the Bernina 1130 the knob, like the power should be in the horizontal position to be working both feed and power.

Dropping Feed dogs on kenmore model 19233

Remove extension table/accessory box by gentle pulling it away from machine. You are left with just the free arm. In the back of the free arm, lower left corner, you will fine the feed dog lever. Push the leaver to the right to lower the feed dog.Instructions for lowering and raising the feed dog are on page 48 of your owner's manual. Good luck!
