I received the HP CB350 digital camera for Christmas and I havn't been able to use it! The flash does not work. I've tried reading the manual, new batteries, and changing the flash to all the time and nothing works. When I take a picture, the flash makes a crackling noise, but does not flash. I'm about to throw the camera away cause it's junk with no flash. Please help.

Do you have an SD memory card inserted? Your camera only has a 32MB internal memory, which could easily fill up after taking 5 or 6 shots depending on what setting you have it on.

Below are the tips to you :
Digital camera use high current to make it works. Your 2 units battery 2500 mAh are normally worth for your camera.
Your battery will get its full capacity after charged for 13-15 hours from designated charger ( I supposed you to use energizer charger).In your camera set your flasher to auto mode. This will save the power rather than use the flasher manually / all time.
If after fully charged the battery and you still get the same performance. You may have wear down battery and need replacement.
New battery required 24 hours charging before use at first time.
Now install your new batteries.
If you still get same problem, you've got problem with your camera internally.
